Trump‘s lawyers on March 5 issued a warning to three of the Republican Party’s largest fundraising entities: the Republican National Committee (RNC), the Republican National Congressional Committee (NRCC) and the Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) to stop using Trump’s name and likeness in official fundraising publications, emails and merchandise, Politico News reported.
Politico reported, “Trump is angry about the use of his name by organizations that helped vote to impeach his Republicans without his permission.”
On Friday, the Republican National Committee sent out two emails asking supporters for donations, saying it would allow their names to be added to Trump’s thank-you cards, the paper said.
“Privately, Republican contenders said it would be impossible not to use Trump’s name because his policies are so popular among voters.”
On Feb. 21, the right-wing outlet Gateway Pundit said agency employee Larry-Johnson received an email from the NRSC, an agency affiliated with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, which read, “We need 1,000 patriots to stand with Trump by midnight tonight! If you are a proud Trump supporter, then now is the Time! Democrats have tried to put Trump away with two fake impeachment trials and now the Democrats have screwed up, if you care about protecting Trump’s legacy, then we need you now!” The email also included the account numbers for donations and where to make them.
Johnson denounced the fact that no official information talking about the election controversy will be found on the NRSC’s website. “This email is a clear grab for more money” to send donations to “the Republican establishment that despises Trump voters.” Prior to that, McConnell, after voting against former President Trump’s impeachment, vigorously attacked Trump’s challenge to the 2020 election and blamed Trump for the Jan. 6 congressional incident, prompting repeated attacks from Trump.
On the other hand, Trump had said at CPAC that he would work to unite the Republican Party and advance a conservative agenda in the United States.
Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump, previously said, “President Trump is committed to the Republican Party, and not only that, he wants to make sure the Republicans win back the House and Senate in 2022.”
