The people of Wuhan paid a huge price for the Communist Party’s concealment of the Epidemic when the city was sealed off on January 23 last year. After the closure, officials blocked information and continued to conceal the number of people infected with the epidemic so that the outside world could not learn the real information. However, four citizen journalists risked arrest to bring the truth about the epidemic to the outside world, but were severely retaliated against by the Chinese Communist authorities. Zhang Zhan was heavily sentenced to 4.5 years, Chen Qiushi is still under house arrest and unable to speak out, and Fang Bin has not been heard from for 25 months since he was taken away by the public security authorities on February 10 last year, and there are constant inquiries about his whereabouts, hoping that the Chinese people will not forget this “man who holds the salary for all”.
Cai Xia, a retired professor from the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China, tweeted on the 5th to call attention to the recent situation of Fang Bin, a citizen journalist. Cai Xia said, “A year has passed, but it seems that the outside world can not get any news of Fang Bin, which is heartbreaking. We can’t forget Fang Bin, and we can’t give up the search for him. To borrow a famous quote: ‘He who holds the salary for the masses must not be made to freeze and die in the wind and snow; he who opens the way for freedom must not be made to get stuck in the thorns.’ Where exactly is Fang Bin?”

Fang Bin is a local businessman in Wuhan. On February 1 of last year, unhappy with the Chinese Communist authorities’ cover-up of the epidemic, Fang Bin went to various hospitals in Wuhan to photograph the actual situation. When he arrived at the entrance of Wuhan No. 5 Hospital, Fang Bin shot a video showing that in just five minutes, the number of bodies in the body truck increased from three to eight, and that there were still bodies in the hospital that had not been taken out. After he sent the video to a WeChat group, he was arrested by police and released a few hours later under enormous public pressure.
Fang Bin said at the Time that he was telling the truth and was not worried about going to jail and would stick to documenting the truth.
On February 8, Fang Bin continued to call for resistance to Communist tyranny on the YouTube platform “Wuhan Direct”. “The Chinese Communist tyranny is so evil. This evil can no longer exist. China is the land of the Chinese people, how can we allow the CCP devil to run rampant here.” The next day, he wrote, “All people resist, return the government to the people.
On February 10, Fang Bin was arrested. Multiple sources confirmed that police and plainclothes officers had a long standoff with Fang Bin before firefighters broke down the door and arrested him. It is said that the arrest order was given directly by the Ministry of Public Security. There are rumors that Fang Bin is being held in Wuchang prison.
After Chen Qiushi and Fang Bin were arrested, some netizens launched an online campaign calling on Wuhan residents to turn off the lights for one minute at 8 p.m. on Feb. 14 and bang pots at their homes at the same time, chanting slogans including: “Wuhan people go, Wuhan people save themselves, release Chen Qiushi and Fang Bin.
On Nov. 23 last year, Wang Jianhong, director of the overseas human rights organization Humane China, tweeted that after Wuhan was unsealed, Fang Bin’s Family repeatedly went to the Houhu police station to inquire about his whereabouts, all to no avail. The head of the police station recently said to Fang Bin’s son that “Fang Bin’s case is closely related to the U.S. election, and we have to wait for the results of the U.S. election before deciding what to do with Fang Bin.
The company’s main goal is to provide the best possible solution to the problem. What the family wants to know is whether Fang Bin is dead or alive? Where is being held? In the end what crime has been committed!”
According to people concerned about Fang Bin told overseas Chinese media, Fang Bin’s family had gone to the Houhu police station for many times, the police began to be perfunctory, and then said to leave Fang Bin’s matter alone for the time being, after a period of time. The police said they were prepared to charge him with “inciting subversion of state power” at first, but now they have been dragging their feet for some time, so they can charge him with something less serious like “provoking and provoking trouble”.
Now that the dust has settled from the U.S. election, but Fang Bin still has no news, many netizens are quite worried about Fang Bin’s situation: “I especially respect small people like Fang Bin and Zhang Zhan who, in the face of evil and totalitarianism, have the courage to overcome their inner fears and bravely raise their voices for justice. Society is made up of ordinary individuals. Even if you don’t have the courage to speak out, you can just tweet for them and give them a compliment to accumulate positive energy for justice”, “Overseas societies forget about these people who reveal the truth for the sake of profit. Domestic fools have long been insensitive for their personal interests”, “He is older than me, but he is so simple, this is the Chinese elder in my heart”, “It may have been nine lives. What should we do?” The Chinese Communist Party knows that everyone has a memory like a goldfish, and everyone seems to be born with a silver spoon. The hero who confronted tyranny! The backbone of the nation! I admire him!” The backbone of the nation!
In addition to Fang Bin, who has not been heard from by the Chinese Communist Party, citizen journalist Zhang Zhan was sentenced to 4.5 years in December last year for “picking quarrels and provoking trouble”. Chen Qiushi is reported to have returned to his Home in Qingdao. According to a Radio Television Hong Kong report in October last year, Chen Qiushi is still under residential surveillance, and the authorities do not allow him to access the Internet, send messages, or allow outside visits. Although he is not ill, he is not physically or mentally healthy. The newspaper also quoted sources as saying that Chen Qiushi’s “bail pending trial” will last at least one year, but it is expected that he will not be able to speak out for a long time to come.
