Although people do not quite believe in the existence of ghosts and gods, they are very enthusiastic about ghosts and monsters in Film and Television. So, for the sake of ratings and sales, producers have been making a lot of films and TV works based on ghosts and monsters. Watching ghost movies, people are mostly watching a hilarious, if personally encountered, it is not such a scene. Ji Xiaolan, a university scholar of the Qing Dynasty, saw his father living in a haunted government office and rushed to persuade him to move out. What did his father say?
In the summer of 1764, Ji Xiaolan was ordered to inspect Education in Fujian. His father, Yao Angong, came with him and heard that a room in this government office was haunted.
The former government office was a taxation office in the Ming Dynasty. At that Time, the eunuchs imposed excessive taxes and harms many innocent people in the government office. So in the Qing Dynasty, there were still frequent visions there. The servants accompanying Ji Xiaolan were often frightened in the night.
When Ji Xiaolan’s father heard that the official office was haunted, he moved his bed to that room that day. As a result, the whole night was quiet and nothing strange happened.
Ji Xiaolan then politely advised his father, “Father, please don’t take your body and fight with evil ghosts. In my opinion, you’d better move out of that room.”
Yao An Gong then told him.
“Many scholars advocate the theory of no ghosts, that is both pedantic and forceful. As the saying goes, evil does not invade righteousness. The qi of a righteous gentleman is the righteousness. Ghosts are afraid of people because yin qi cannot overcome yang qi.
“If someone is invaded by a ghost, it must be because his yang qi is too weak to overcome the yin qi. A person with strong yang energy is not strong by virtue of blood energy alone, or a rough temperament.
“As long as a person’s heart often carries a charitable heart, this is yang qi; the heart often bubbles with fierce thoughts, this is yin qi. A heart that is honest and clean is yang qi; a heart that is sinister and treacherous is yin qi. Just and upright is Yang Qi, selfish and flattering is Yin Qi.
“So the I Ching – Xiang Shi” compares Yang to a gentleman and Yin to a villain. As long as a person’s heart remains bright and upright, his blood energy will behave as pure yang and pure rigidity. Occasionally met with evil demons and ghosts, a person with a righteous spirit is like a furnace fire burning in a secluded room, no matter how solid the ice is, it will be melted.
“After reading for so many years, have you found any historical biography in which it is recorded that people with a decent character would be victimized by ghosts and demons?”
Ji Xiaolan listened quietly and respectfully accepted his father’s teachings. Yao An Gong sat in the ghost house, a masculine and righteous, in turn, scared the ghosts and demons do not dare to move around. The goodness of one’s heart is a great treasure!
