The U.S. is dangerously behind in artificial intelligence (AI), such as that at stake for the future of national security, said the National Security Council on Artificial Intelligence (NSCAI), which involves the former Google chief executive and the future chief executive of Amazon, among others, according to AFP on Wednesday.
The commission called for the U.S. to invest $40 billion to win the strategic AI race with China.
The NSCAI was established by Congress in 2018 and includes technologists, national security professionals, business executives, and academic leaders, including Oracle CEO Safra Catz and Andy Jassy, who will take over as Amazon’s chief executive later this year.
