Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) began the CPAC convention with a scathing criticism of cowardly Republicans, saying “conservatism without a backbone is doomed to fail,” reports The Gateway Pundit.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, opened the annual CPAC convention in Orlando Friday morning. Reports say CPAC is holding its conference in Florida this year, rather than in a military zone in Washington, D.C., because of the state’s open business climate.
Governor DeSantis told the crowd, “Right now, Florida is leading on issues that are important to conservatives, and we don’t harp on empty rhetoric, we take decisive action. What’s Really Happening in Florida …… It’s also true of conservatives nationwide. We cannot and we will not return to the failed Republican establishment of yesteryear.”
In his speech, Gov. DeSantis praised Rush Limbaugh for showing the courage of his convictions Time and time again before adding, “Rush showed that it takes strength to fight the left and that conservatism without a backbone is doomed to fail.”
The Gateway Pundit said Governor DeSantis is a rising star in the new Republican Party next to President Donald Trump.
