Following the recent announcement by Chinese authorities of the deaths of Communist soldiers in last year’s clashes along the Sino-Indian border, Chinese police arrested at least seven people from Feb. 19 to 22 for “insulting and defaming martyrs. Wang Jingyu, a 19-year-old permanent resident of the United States, was also arrested by Chinese security officials for questioning the deaths of Communist soldiers online, and his Home in Chongqing was raided. In an exclusive interview with Radio Free Asia reporter Xue Xiaoshan, he talked about why he questioned, the real heroes in his mind, and how his Parents were implicated because of him.
Reporter: At about 19:00 on February 21, police in Shapingba District, Chongqing, received a report that a Weibo user, “@TSCB8,” had made derogatory remarks about heroic officers and soldiers defending the country’s borders. The police said that you are under criminal detention on suspicion of picking quarrels and provoking trouble, as well as “fugitive on the Internet”. Your Weibo account has been blocked and we are all curious as to what comments were made. What crime has been committed?
Wang Jingyu: I commented under the police bulletin of the Mianyang Internet police patrol and law enforcement, the content is roughly the death of the Communist army, the Indians have done a good job in this matter. The second comment is that the Chinese Communist Party has only a few dead Communist soldiers? The third comment was that if the Chinese Communist authorities were telling the truth and there was something shameful going on, why did it take so long to issue this news?

Reporter: Why do you say that? Did you watch the video of the conflict between India and China?
Wang Jingyu: A big country should talk about facts. The Sino-Indian border dispute is a long-standing issue, one side crossed the border, the other side went over to remind no problem. Whether the video is inside the wall or outside the wall, we can see and hear that the head of the communist army insulted the Indian soldiers one sentence after another, and also scolded the translator: you just translate my meaning directly, you said tell him to get lost. The Indian soldier reacted more mildly.
Under his repeated provocations, the Indian army launched a counterattack. Due to their own poor quality and military capabilities, the communist army was no match for the Indian soldiers, resulting in casualties. The Chinese Communist authorities then made it up: five PLA troops ran to fight two hundred others and died bravely.
In layman’s terms, the communist army provoked the incident itself, people beat you up, your own military quality is poor, you were wounded and killed. The Chinese Communist media either did not report it, or reported it after it happened, but should not have reported it after so many months, and the content of the report was completely fabricated and ignored the facts. We don’t want to live in a country full of lies.
Reporter: You are in Europe, how to criminalize? What do you mean by online fugitive?
Wang Jingyu: I think online fugitive is only for domestic. Regarding the criminal detention, I myself am currently very free, clothed and fed. I don’t know what the significance of this notice is.
Reporter: In addition to you, Nanjing “hot pen small ball” Qiu Ziming, Mianyang “well-known zed” Yang, Qinhuangdao netizen Tang and other people were also convicted for their words. The revised Criminal Procedure Law was implemented on March 1, damaging the reputation of martyrs or will be punished with a prison term of up to three years, after which there will be people who dare to talk about martyrs?
Wang Jingyu: “Spicy Pen” should not be arrested. He did not insult any of the communists, but only questioned the whole incident. Any mainland citizen has this right, and the Constitution itself says we have freedom of speech. This is not the work of a state, but more like the work of a gang or bandit den.
If criminal means are not used to persecute the masses who spread the truth, the political party may not be saved and Xi Jinping‘s presidency may not be saved. Where there is a problem, the CCP makes a law to persecute the people.

Reporter: The Chinese Communist Party officially described Chen Hongjun, Chen Xiangrong, Xiao Siyuan and Wang Choran as “heroes” who defended the mainland territory with their “blood and youth”. What do you think of them?
Wang Jingyu: I think they should not be called martyrs, soldiers obey orders is the natural duty, but on this basis should have their own thinking, the incident itself by the Chinese innocent insults provoked, can only be considered provocative trouble after defeating the other side and died in battle. Calling martyrs is too much, that any country’s military can go to provoke (other countries).
Reporter: How did they locate your real name identity from Weibo?
Wang Jingyu: It is not clear, there are several guesses. I had previously posted on Weibo in my real name in support of Yang Jia’s mother, Wang Jingmei; I had charged my Weibo membership and paid with Alipay. Yang Jia is the hero who was insulted by the CCP police and rushed into the police station to kill the police.
Reporter: Is Yang Jia a real hero in your heart?
Wang Jingyu: The garrison soldier was provoking trouble, Yang Jia was maintaining justice, defying power, defeating the evil triads, and even giving his Life. He is a hero in my mind, and in the minds of many people.

Reporter: What else did the CCP police and netizens do to you after your phone number, address, and even passport were exposed? Have you also been raided?
Wang Jingyu: Yesterday, I received more than 500 text messages. Home addresses were exposed by so-called microbloggers, including passports and driver’s licenses.
At around 6:30 pm the night of the incident, three police officers and three plainclothes officers from Qinjiagang Police Station in Shapingba District, Chongqing went to my address in Chongqing, went through it, and took away the desktop computer and IPAD. They first subdued my parents with handcuffs and took them to the police station for questioning for about four hours. The next day, they took them away again and released them at night. This morning, they took them away again and released them at night. They were handcuffed in the interrogation chair and were not allowed to eat a bite of Food. My mother, who works for PetroChina, was told not to come to work after the incident; my father, who also works for a state-owned enterprise, was asked to suspend his work.
They even took away my Family‘s jade and foreign currency bills without any seizure notice. The police asked my parents to make me return to my country within three days, or else they will detain them. Yesterday I received phone calls from Turkey and Bulgaria and received death threats. I called the police. I may not be safe in Europe or even in the United States.
Reporter: Some people on the Internet have attacked you for being a beggar, mentally ill, and want you to starve to death in Europe. Do you have anything to say in response?
Wang Jingyu: History will remember the righteous side, and this is my response. Since July 2019 I have been QQing in solidarity with pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong and overseas, including Wang Chunyan who is on hunger strike outside the Chinese Communist Embassy in the United States. I just want to contribute to my friends who have the same volunteerism as me. I want more Chinese people to know what kind of party the Chinese Communist Party is and how it stole power. I want more people to know the truth.

Reporter: Why did you leave the mainland? You tweeted that the Chinese Communist Party was founded on deception, “This evil party, sooner or later, will die.” Did you grow up in China?
Wang Jingyu: I posted a clip of “May the glory return to Hong Kong” on ShakeYin and was quickly summoned. On July 9, 2019, I flew overnight to Shanghai and then to Hong Kong. When I saw on Twitter that Hong Kong police officers beat people on sight indiscriminately, I felt particularly distressed and really wanted to do something for them.
My father served in the Communist Air Force, was assigned to the public security department, and was once a deputy to the National People’s Congress in Shapingba. He witnessed particularly horrible things. At that Time, the security forces were investigating pornography, gambling and drugs at night, and when they caught prostitutes, they raped the women who were engaged in the sex trade and beat them up afterwards. My grandfather was also in the government, and my father, who was a passionate man, felt that the Communist authorities were becoming more and more corrupt after seeing this. He told me that in the remote villages, the police were the kings of heaven. My father then voluntarily resigned from his position as a police officer and a deputy to the National People’s Congress and went to work as a salesman for a state-owned enterprise.
Reporter: After the release of the video of the Sino-Indian conflict, the Internet was filled with heartfelt patriotic declarations, “They died for me,” “A soldier is a boundary marker,” and “If you violate my China, you will be punished even if you are far away “. Wang Jingyu: I don’t have the answer, but I probably know some of the reasons. One of my aunt’s children went to kindergarten in Chongqing, and Education on the mainland now starts from kindergarten by making up facts: without the Communist Party, we wouldn’t be here today, and without the Communist Party, we wouldn’t have enough to eat. What should be a childhood full of children’s fun, almost all public elementary schools in Chongqing on Wednesdays in the pioneer class, all let students talk about how much I love the motherland, the Communist Party, the People’s Liberation Army.
A person grows up opening the TV, cell phone, computer will see the Communist Party good, President Xi good, the army needs you, the whole thinking will follow the evil party. Although I insulted the communist army, I feel sorry for the four communist officers and soldiers who died in the war.
The reason for all this today is that this evil party has trapped all the countrymen on the mainland in an invisible prison, equating the Chinese Communist Party with the Chinese people.

There was a Twitter number that posted things in support of Hong Kong and domestic police beatings that was also blocked. Now there are six more tweets and more than ten Jitterbug numbers. Even if I get one more countryman to come to his senses, it’s a hope for the mainland.”
