“Trump’s move shocked diplomats present at secret Trump-Kim meeting

Previously, Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had three meetings, which attracted much attention from the outside world. Recently, the secret of the “Trump-Kim meeting” has been revealed again. Trump’s staff disclosed to the BBC recently that Trump took the initiative to tell Kim Jong-un that he was willing to send him back to Pyongyang with Air Force One during the second “Trump-Kim meeting”, which scared almost all the diplomats present.

The BBC revealed the unknown details of the “Trump-Kim meeting” in the latest episode of “Trump Takes On the World”. In the program pointed out that at the end of February 2019, the United States and North Korea held the second “Trump-Kim meeting” in Hanoi, Vietnam, although the two sides finally ended in an unhappy end, but before the breakthrough, Trump had released a friendly gesture to Kim Jong-un, but beyond the imagination of all senior diplomats.

Former US deputy national security adviser Matthew Pottinger said that President Trump proposed to Kim Jong-un to send him back to Pyongyang on Air Force One. Because Trump knows it took Kim Jong Un several days to get on the train and travel through the mainland before arriving in Hanoi. Therefore, he said, “I can take you Home in just two hours, if you want,” but Kim Jong-un politely declined.

Since the first Trump-Kim meeting, Trump has considered Kim Jong Un a good brother. According to former national security adviser John Bolton, Trump thought he had a new best friend.

In fact, it wasn’t just the “hitchhiker” offer that surprised Trump’s staff. Bolton said that when Kim Jong-un complained about the joint military exercises between the U.S. and South Korea, Trump immediately sided with the “new best friend”. He said, “Trump suddenly said to Kim Jong-un, I will cancel these military exercises, they do not need to spend money again, and if you cancel the military exercises will make you happy”. I just couldn’t believe he said that at the Time.

Bolton said he was in the meeting room with former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, but Trump promised Kim Jong Un he would cancel the military exercises without consulting him first. That’s a big concession to North Korea, and we got nothing back,” Bolton said.

Jeff Feltman, a senior U.N. official, revealed the secret of how the Trump-Kim meeting was initiated. Feltman said he was invited to Pyongyang amid tensions over North Korea’s constant threats of attack and Trump’s derision of Kim Jong Un as a “Rocket Man. After Trump was informed, he asked him to convey the invitation to Kim Jong Un for a meeting.

Feltman said that when he raised the issue with North Korea’s foreign minister, his first response was, “I don’t believe you, why should I believe what you’re saying?” Feltman responded that he was only helping to deliver the message and that it was up to you to decide whether to believe it or not.

Shortly after that message was delivered, Kim Jong Un reached out to the South Korean government and said he was willing to meet with Trump. The White House national security adviser at the time, HR McMaster, said that after the South Korean ambassador to the U.S. conveyed to Trump that Kim Jong Un wanted to meet, Trump agreed, causing “the ambassador to fall off his chair in surprise” because the South Korean side did not expect Trump to agree so readily.

The second “Trump-Kim meeting” Kim Jong-un was “scared out of his mind” by Trump?

After the collapse of the second “Trump-Kim meeting” in late February 2019, there were reports that Kim Jong-un had fallen ill from the shock; there were also rumors that he had been “scared out of his wits” by U.S. President Donald Trump. In response, Trump revealed the inside story for the first time at a dinner on April 2, 2019. He said he told Kim Jong-un at the time that you were not ready to reach an agreement. Then he immediately left the scene, which I believe no one has ever done to Kim Jong-un.

On April 3, 2019, according to the South Korean newspaper Dong-A Ilbo, the U.S.-North Korea summit meeting was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from February 27 to 28, when Kim Jong Un demanded that the UN Security Council wants to lift some of the sanctions against the country on the condition of abandoning the ningbian nuclear facilities.

The U.S. side, however, demanded that the DPRK must take “complete denuclearization” measures and therefore rejected Kim’s demand. Trump then left the negotiating table and the talks broke down, leaving the U.S.-North Korea denuclearization talks in a stalemate once again.
