Trump’s daughter-in-law Laura: Trump is “likely” to run for president in 2024

Former President Trump‘s daughter-in-law and former White House senior adviser Lara Trump said Sunday (Feb. 21) that Trump “likely” intends to run for president again in 2024. The latest polls also continue to show Trump’s high approval rating.

Laura told Fox News on Sunday (Feb. 21), “He told us to stay tuned, it’s not over for him, and he indicated that he might be interested in running again in 2024.”

In discussing the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) to be held this week in Orlando, Florida, Laura referred to Trump as “the leader of the Republican Party. The CPAC appearance is his first public appearance since leaving the White House.

Laura said, “Whether we’re talking about 2022 or beyond, he (Trump) is someone that everyone will continue to look to for help. Republicans want Trump to help them cross the line (of half the seats in Congress). I think this man has changed politics and he’s changed our party, the Republican Party. There’s no question about that.”

His daughter-in-law’s comments came days after Trump, asked by Newsmax host Greg Kelly if he would run for president in 2024, replied that it was “too early” to make a decision. “It’s too early to say, but I can definitely see a lot of great polls,” Trump said. “We have tremendous support. I wouldn’t say (whether to run) yet, we have strong support and I’m seeing the poll numbers go through the roof.”

Trump added: “I’m the only one who’s been impeached, and my support numbers are growing.”

Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller Jason Miller (D-Mass.) said last week that the former president will discuss the future of the Republican Party and the lessons learned in the 2020 election in a CPAC speech.

Miller told Newsmax on Feb. 20 that Trump plans to share his views on ways to increase Republican support for his “America First” agenda and how the GOP can win in the 2022 and 2024 elections.

I think you’re going to hear President Trump next Sunday (Feb. 28) talk about the future of the Republican Party and the lessons we learned in 2020,” Miller said. We’ve seen President Trump bring in a record number of African-American and Latino votes, more votes than any presidential election in recent memory. We must engage these voters to support the Republican Party.”

And according to former Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller, the president’s president is a member of the Republican Party. Stephen Miller, Trump still has an optimistic vision for America and is focused on fighting China, reviving American manufacturing, eliminating monopolies on big technology companies, reopening schools, and securing the border, among other themes.

CPAC, the largest annual gathering of conservative radicals, will be held Feb. 25-28, with Trump speaking on the final day.

Polls support Trump’s new party

According to the latest Suffolk University-USA Today poll released on Sunday (Feb. 21), Trump not only leads the Republican Party, but clearly “owns” it. By a margin of nearly 2 to 1, Republicans want to leave the GOP and follow former President Trump into a third party.

Brandon Keidl, a 27-year-old Republican small business owner from Milwaukee, said, “We don’t think Republicans are fighting for us enough, and we all see Trump fighting for us as hard as he can every day. But establishment Republicans only agree with everything establishment Democrats do, and they never fight back.”

The poll found that 46 percent of Republicans would follow Trump to a new party, while only 26 percent would stay Republican, while the rest remain undecided. And most Trump voters (54 percent) are more loyal to the candidate than to the party (34 percent). Only 19 percent believe Republicans should stay away from Trump and stay loyal to establishment Republicans.

“There has also been a dramatic change in how American conservatives think about trusted news sources,” said David Paleologos, director of Suffolk University’s Center for Political Studies.

In October 2016, 58 percent of respondents said Fox News was their most trusted news source, but that number has dropped to 34 percent. Newsmax now has the highest trust rating, 17 percent higher than Fox (it’s 51 percent), followed by One American News (OANN) at 9 percent higher than Fox (it’s 43 percent).
