More than 300 Chinese citizens have suggested that the central government should expedite the enactment of the “Government Law” to monitor officials’ negligence and prevent incidents of deception, forgery and corruption.
More than 300 Chinese citizens have recently signed a joint petition, suggesting that the central government should expeditiously promulgate the Government Law to implement military control, supervise officials’ negligence, and prevent the occurrence of incidents such as deception, falsification, and fraudulent inquiries. In response, lawyer Ren Quanniu, whose license was revoked for defending Falun Gong practitioners in 2018, said the case was constructive and hoped that the signers would pay attention to safety and that more people would come to sign.
More than 300 people signed the petition, hoping that the central government will issue the government law as soon as possible.
Rights Defense Network reports that more than 300 Chinese citizens have recently signed a joint petition suggesting that the Chinese government should implement an integrated network of military control from the central to the local level for law-related petitions, and include a mandatory hearing process for judicial openness for wrongful cases, and request the central government to expeditiously promulgate a “Government Law” to supervise and restrain government officials’ negligence to ensure that each case is fair and just, and to prevent deception, falsification, private investigation, and fraud. The report said that citizens from all over the country have been trying to get a better understanding of the situation.
According to the report, citizens across the country have signed a petition to demand the authorities to lift the Government Law as soon as possible, in order to correct the wrongful cases in a timely manner and to prevent the occurrence of wrongful cases. Since countless petitioners have been on the road to defend their rights for decades without any results, but many petitioners have been jointly framed and imprisoned by the public prosecutor and the law, and governments around the country have seriously violated human rights, these local government officials must be liquidated and held criminally responsible, and petitioners who have been harmed must be given moral compensation.
In this regard, lawyer Ren Quanniu, whose lawyer’s license was revoked by the Henan Provincial Department of Justice on February 2 of this year for representing Falun Gong practitioners in 2018, also saw the petition and told Look at China, “I think its positive significance is great, although the whole environment is continuing to decline and regress, but these brave petitioners and citizens can I think it is worth encouraging and affirming such a constructive opinion and public opinion, but I also hope, I hope they will pay attention to safety,” Ren also stressed, “It would be good if more people could sign the petition.”
Ren Quanniu said: “Now do this kind of behavior, I think it may not be very risky, but do not rule out the risk”, because the official “will find who is the initiator, may be more dangerous, for ordinary co-signers, citizens, it may not be so dangerous, the risk is not so big. “
In response to the continued deterioration of human rights in China, as a human rights lawyer, Ren Quanniu said that the human rights situation in China is now in sharp decline, “perhaps because we do not have more information, perhaps the domestic conflicts have reached a very serious point, they (officials) do not have the means, or the ability to solve these big conflicts “, then only this immediate surface of these problems can be solved, so the official will also think, “the immediate can maintain stability, also achieved the purpose.”
However, Ren Quanniu also stressed to reporters, “I think, the fundamental problem may still not be solved, not only not solved, will accumulate more and more, it will cause a what accumulation of heavy hard to shake such a result, it will be even worse to do in the future.”
Finally, Ren Quanniu said, “the overall environment is, at the moment to see the words, is … they are unable to solve the official is not able to solve some of these problems, can only be the symptoms, but not the root cause, but the symptoms, but also may not be able to cure”, he believes, because the cure, but the problem is the more serious. Therefore, Ren Quanniu feels that the official can only do so now, “they (official) is helpless.”

Lawyer Ren Quanniu, who has represented several human rights cases, had his lawyer’s license revoked by the Henan Provincial Department of Justice for his involvement in the November 7, 2018, crime of allegedly undermining the implementation of the law against 10 Falun Gong practitioners.
However, it is believed that Ren Quanniu’s involvement in the “12 Hong Kong People case” was due to retaliation by the Chinese Communist authorities for his earlier commissioning to represent Hong Kong resident Huang Weiran by his Family.
“In a Facebook post on February 3, the 12 Hong Kong People’s Concern Group said that the 12 Hong Kong people’s families condemned the Chinese Communist authorities for revoking the licenses of Lu Siwei and Ren Quanniu on January 15 and February 2, respectively, “on trumped-up charges”.
Before that, on January 29, 2021, at 8:30 a.m., the authorities held a hearing on the proposed revocation of Ren Quanniu’s license to practice law by the Henan Provincial Department of Justice.
At the hearing, Ren submitted several pieces of evidence to prove that he had not violated court order and that his defense would not have a “bad” social impact. He emphasized that the investigator never presented any national records or legal provisions that identified Falun Gong as a cult, but only relied on the verbal statement that the Party and the country as a whole knew that Falun Gong was a cult, but the presiding officer interrupted Ren Quanniu’s However, the presiding officer interrupted Ren Quanniu’s speech on this issue.
The lawyer also emphasized that the proposed penalty of revocation of the license stems from the regulation “denying the nature of the cult as determined by the state”, but he was not allowed to question whether there is such a “determination by the state”, nor was he allowed to talk about the regulations of the judiciary. The lawyer was not allowed to speak about whether there is such a “state determination”, nor was he allowed to talk about the judicial branch’s regulations, which themselves violate the higher law, and the invalidity of the Legislative Law.
