The PLA Boom-6K military aircraft released by the military of the Republic of China.
Taiwan‘s Ministry of National Defense (MND) issued a news release stating that on the evening of February 20, two J-10, two J-16, four J-Bomber-7, two Boom-6K, and one Carrier-8 anti-submarine aircraft entered Taiwan’s southwest air defense identification zone (ADIZ). The Taiwan Air Force dispatched air patrol troops to respond, broadcast repulsions, and track and monitor anti-aircraft missiles.
The Ministry of National Defense (MND) said on Saturday (Feb. 20), “Today’s air situation is a joint air and sea exercise of the Communist forces, and the MND is in control of the whole process. And according to the schematic diagram, the common aircraft training area is located in the north of Dongsha Island, and after entering our ADIZ, immediately turned around and returned by the original route.” According to public information from Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense, Saturday was the largest military operation against Taiwan by PLA military aircraft this month.
According to the dynamics of PLA military aircraft in February this year, on the 1st, 5th, 15th and 16th were a transport 8 anti-submarine aircraft involved in operations against Taiwan; on the 2nd, 6th and 18th were a transport 8 technical reconnaissance aircraft; on the 4th were a transport 8 technical reconnaissance aircraft and a transport 8 electronic reconnaissance aircraft; on the 13th were a transport 8 anti-submarine aircraft and a transport 8 technical reconnaissance aircraft; on the 7th were two transport 8 anti-submarine aircraft; on the 8th were two J-16 fighters; on the 17th were two On the 19th, there were 4 J-16s, 4 J-7s, and 1 Yun-9; on the 20th, there were 2 J-10s, 2 J-16s, 4 J-7s, 2 Bo6Ks, and 1 Yun-8 anti-submarine aircraft.
According to the PLA’s military aircraft dynamics, the most high-profile ones were on January 23, when one Yun-8 anti-submarine aircraft, eight Boom 6Ks, and four J-16s entered Taiwan’s southwest ADIZ; and on January 24, when two Yun-8 anti-submarine aircraft, two Su-30s, four J-16s, six J-10s, and one Yun-8 technical reconnaissance aircraft entered Taiwan’s southwest ADIZ, the largest related operation of the year so far.
A State Department spokesman on Saturday reiterated his call for Beijing to “cease military, diplomatic and economic pressure on Taiwan,” adding that Beijing should “instead engage in meaningful dialogue with Taiwan’s elected representatives.
