“The parents of the young victim of the Xi Jinping daughter information leak case told the Epoch Times on Feb. 19 that the Foshan judicial bureau interviewed Tian Haibo’s lawyer in the afternoon of Feb. 19 because of the involvement of Maoming’s Political and Legal Committee, saying that he had not completed the formalities and had not reported the case, and that it was an evil and black-related case.
The Justice Bureau claimed that Tian Haibo had two main problems. First, the case should have been reported, but it was not; second, the plea of not guilty should have been requested, but it was not. In sensitive cases like this one, the characterization of the case cannot be changed and a political stance has to be taken.
The parents said that the purpose of the Justice Bureau is to put pressure on lawyer Tian Haibo not to continue to represent him. Otherwise, Tian’s lawyer would likely face being dealt with and having his license revoked.
Xiao Yanrui, a relative of the Niu Tengyu case, provided the reporter with a conversation between him and his lawyer, and Tian Haibo’s lawyer confirmed that the judicial system in Maoming intervened in the interview with the Foshan Judicial Bureau, saying that the acceptance of black and evil cases must be reported to the Law Society or the Judicial Bureau.
