President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, left his laptop at a computer repair store in Delaware. Now, the former owner of the computer repair store is suing Twitter for defamation.

John Paul Mac Isaac, the former owner of the Apple computer repair store, closed it last year. He revealed that a few years ago, Hunter Biden brought in a broken computer, but did not return to pick it up after it was repaired.

Mike Isaac later contacted Rudy Giuliani, former President Donald Trump‘s lawyer, about it. Giuliani provided the news media with some of the material on Hunter’s computer.

The first relevant report came from the New York Post. Twitter blocked distribution of the story, claiming it violated its policy on “material obtained through hacking. The company said in a statement that it violated rules on “dissemination of hacked material.

Mike Isaac’s lawyers said in a new filing that the statement from Twitter was defamatory.

Hacking is defined as an intrusion or access to a computer or other device that is unauthorized or exceeds authorization, the lawyers said. A hacker is defined as a person who has unlawful access to a computer system, and the term hacker is widely considered to have a derogatory connotation.

They wrote, “Plaintiff is not a hacker and the information obtained from the computer does not constitute access to the material through hacking because, first, Plaintiff obtained permission from the computer’s owner, Biden (Hunter), to legally gain access to the computer. Second, despite Plaintiff’s request, Biden (Hunter) did not return to take the computer. This is an abandonment of property under Apple Store policy.”

But as a result of Twitter’s actions and statements, Mike Isaac “is now widely perceived as a hacker,” the lawyers said, and those actions led to a barrage of negative comments and threats that eventually forced him to shut down his business.

In a video last year, Mike Isaac said that being labeled a hacker “is a death sentence in my industry.”

He added at the Time, “For the record, I’m not a hacker and I never was. Those guys make a lot more money than I do. I’ve been hired to fix computers, but no one has ever paid me for transferring data from this MacBook Pro computer to an external hard drive.”

Mike Isaac said the new lawsuit includes documentation of computer repairs authorized by Hunter Biden and invoices for repair costs.

The new lawsuit states that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey told Congress that his company made “a mistake” and “corrected it within 24 hours.”

Dorsey said the New York Post’s account “conflicted with a policy related to the dissemination of material obtained through hacking.” “We are aware that there was an error in this policy and in its implementation.”

The lawsuit accuses Twitter of gross negligence in publishing the defamatory statements and seeks more than $75,000 in damages.

Brian Della Rocca, one of the attorneys representing Mike Isaac, said by email that the team had contacted Twitter and asked for an apology. So far, Twitter has not issued any apology.

Twitter declined to comment on the lawsuit in response to questions.

Late last year, Mike Isaac sued Twitter in the same court – the U.S. District Court for the District of South Florida – but was dismissed by a federal judge.
