U.S. Democrats have sent to Congress a plan to reform immigration policy backed by new President Joe Biden. A number of Republican lawmakers support granting U.S. citizenship to Dreamers who enter the country as minors.
U.S. Democrats on Thursday sent to Congress a plan backed by President Joe Biden to reform immigration policy and open the way for 11 million illegal aliens to obtain U.S. citizenship. The immigration reform is expected to allow illegal aliens who entered the country as minors in search of the American dream to obtain U.S. citizenship. However, Democrats will need Republican support to pass this reform.
A reporter reported Friday (Feb. 19, 2021) from Washington that Democratic U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, one of the bill’s sponsors, said the vision is to reinvent humanity and American values in the U.S. immigration system. If passed, the text of the bill would enable 11 million illegal aliens to obtain U.S. citizenship.

The Democratic U.S. Senate sponsor also noted that they are primarily workers who are so vital that they are essential to the functioning of the U.S. economy; however, they live in constant fear of deportation, and it is Time to bring these 11 million undocumented people out of the shadows.
The Democratic Party’s Second Hand Preparation
Democrats have a majority in the House of Representatives, but in the Senate, it will take at least nine Republican co-sponsors to get a text to reform immigration policy passed.
Democratic Rep. Linda Sanchez knows in her heart that the dust has not yet settled. Once it hits the rocks, Democrats are already planning to reintroduce some more targeted bills. For example, several Republicans support allowing Dreamers who enter the country as minors to obtain U.S. citizenship.
