Chen Ping, the “anti-American fighter” of the Free Asia Register, “revealed himself” to have settled in the United States for many years

Chen Ping, a professor at Fudan University, “exposed” himself in the U.S. on his Weibo page “Mei Shan Jian”.

Chen Ping, a mainland netizen who often criticizes the United States in public forums and social media and focuses on exposing the “dark side” of the United States, accidentally “revealed” on his Weibo account that he had settled in the United States long ago because of a cold snap power outage in Texas this week. Chen Ping was joked by netizens as “anti-American is work, go to the United States is Life“, but our investigation found that the owner of the property, who shares Chen Ping’s English transliteration (Chen Ping), now owns at least one detached house in Texas valued at more than $400,000. A comparison of satellite images shows that the property matches the location Chen Ping “exposed” himself to. Texas real estate transaction records also show that Chen Ping sold a detached house bought in ’91 in February last year, making a profit of $350,000 on the books. (Our investigation team reports)

Chen Ping, a professor at Fudan University, who is the host of the mainland program “Meishan Jianjian”, along with Zhai Dongsheng, Jin Canrong and Ding Yifan, all of whom promote “positive energy” in China and focus on exposing the “dark side” of the United States, told the mainland’s Observer on Monday (15) that he is currently trapped in his Home in Texas and cannot leave. Chen Ping, a professor at Fudan University who is a leading exponent of the “dark side” of the United States, told the Observer on Monday that he is currently trapped in his home in Texas and cannot leave his house.

Chen, who is known as an “anti-American fighter,” also took a selfie on his Weibo page, “Meishan Jian Jian,” of himself trapped in his home during a cold snap, with a detached house behind him and him in the freezing snow. Chen also ridiculed “the U.S. military is still boasting of a nuclear war with China and Russia, and a single cold snap has crippled the power grid and traffic in nearly half of the coastal areas of the United States.

According to the satellite pictures and real estate transaction records of Texas, our investigation team found that this “anti-American fighter”, who was dubbed by netizens as “anti-American is work and going to the US is life”, seems to have been living in the US with his Family for more than 30 years.

A comparison of satellite images shows that the property Chen Ping and his wife now own in Texas matches the appearance of his “self-exposed” selfie in which he was trapped in the snow. The location is in the Cedar Park neighborhood north of Austin, the capital of Texas. The neighborhood has a golf course, hiking trails and a beautiful environment.

Property transaction records show that the owner, who shares the same English name as Chen Ping, purchased the detached home in Steamboat with Song Guohe Chen, believed to be the owner’s wife, in August 2017. It was sold for $394,000, has about 2,725 square feet and four rooms, and is now valued at $416,000.

In addition, the owner, who is pronounced Chen Ping, took out a bank loan in August 2017 to draw down a Home Equity Loan to finance another property in Austin. Comparing the timing of the transaction, it is believed that the owner cashed out to the bank for the purchase of a new bungalow in Steamboat the same year.

Publicly available information also shows that the property that was mortgaged out was purchased by Chen Ping and Song Guohe Chen (believed to be Chen’s wife) in 1991. Also with four bedrooms and 1,621 square feet, the property was eventually sold in February 2020 for $419,000, a profit of $350,000 on the books.

The station called Chen Ping to try to ask him about his life in the United States, but the call could not be answered. The caller did not return the reporter’s message before press Time.
