The United States Texas suffered the most serious winter storm in a century, local people suffered from five days of power outages, the “fragile” power grid finally restored power on the 19th.
Reuters reports that all power plants in Texas have resumed operations, but earlier on Friday (19) there were still about 280,000 households without power.
Local workers are busy re-erecting power lines, and Crude Oil and natural gas producers are trying to restart production.
However, in some of the hardest-hit areas by the ice storm, hospitals are facing water shortages and must transfer patients; authorities have told millions of people to boil water to ensure safe drinking water because water plants are shut down this week, which could lead to the growth of harmful bacteria.
