The Gateway Pundit reported Thursday that former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, an anti-Trump Republican and neoconservative, reached out to former President Trump on Wednesday to meet at the Sea Lake Lodge, but was rebuffed by Trump, according to a new report.
Haley, who has been called the “Hillary Clinton of the right” and is typically an opportunist, lashed out at President Trump ahead of Joe Biden‘s inauguration.
According to Politico’s Playbook column, “Haley reached out to former President Trump on Wednesday for a sit-down interview at the Sea Lake Lodge, but a source familiar with the situation told the Playbook column that Trump turned her down. The two haven’t spoken since the Jan. 6 rebellion, when Haley blasted Trump for inciting supporters to storm the Capitol.”
Haley said after Jan. 6, “I think Trump is going to find himself increasingly isolated, and I think his business is suffering at this point. I think he’s lost any kind of political viability that he would have had. I think he’s lost his social media, which means the world to him. I mean, I think he’s lost what really could move him.”
Haley said, “I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture, and honestly, I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far.”
Politico also recently reported on Haley’s ambitions to be president and how she wants to try to gain Trump’s support.
Haley’s presidential ambitions have been clear for some Time, but supporters of President Trump have been pushing a “Never Haley” movement on the right. It’s clear that she represents the neoconservative Republican Party of the past, while voters prefer Trump’s America First vision.
