Human rights group Citizen Power launches global signature campaign to demand WHO disclose all information about New Crown’s China traceability trip

The U.S.-based Chinese human rights organization Citizen Power has launched a global signature campaign demanding that the World health Organization release all information about its recent trip to China to trace the origins of the New Coronavirus.

The full text of the petition, in English and Chinese, was published by the online media outlet “The Daily”, which is sponsored by Citizen Power.

The petition reads, “The recent WHO mission to China to investigate the origins of the new coronavirus Epidemic is a matter of great concern to all of us. However, WHO’s ability to effectively develop and communicate scientific public health information and recommendations depends on political neutrality and full transparency. We insist that WHO and other cross-governmental international organizations need to be fully accountable to governments and strictly neutral, no matter how powerful and influential some governments may be. With our health and economic well-being at stake, WHO’s obligations in this regard are a matter of Life and death.

The extent to which this WHO China investigation trip is an objective, non-politicized mission has been widely questioned by public opinion . Many democratic governments, including the new U.S. administration, which is considering re-engagement with WHO, have also expressed concerns about WHO’s independence.

Therefore, we need and are indeed entitled to objective and comprehensive information about this WHO investigative trip to China, and WHO must answer the following questions: What is the full and detailed itinerary of the visit? Was all the itinerary and agenda freely chosen, or was it controlled by the Chinese authorities? When and where did the members of the mission meet with whom and what information was obtained during these meetings? Was the Mission subject to any form of censorship? What conclusions did the Mission reach based on the above?

The petition letter states that complete and truthful answers to these questions would go a long way toward enhancing public trust in WHO and its leadership.

Citizen Power calls on individuals and organizations worldwide who are willing to learn the truth to sign and actively promote this signature campaign.
