Raab: China must cooperate fully with WHO on the traceability of new crowns

British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said Feb. 17 that China must cooperate with the World health Organization’s review of the traceability of the virus that led to the New Crown pandemic so that the world can understand who is responsible.

According to Reuters, the U.S. and Britain previously expressed concern about the access given to the WHO panel of experts conducting traceability activities in China. Speaking to BBC Radio in an interview Wednesday, Raab said, “We want to see full cooperation.”

Raab said the world needs to know the details of the origins of the outbreak “because then we can address the issue of responsibility, but also, frankly, moving forward so that we can also learn lessons.”

Raab also called for a global cease-fire and for people living in war-torn areas to be vaccinated against the new crown. He will chair a meeting of the U.N. Security Council on Wednesday, where he is expected to warn that failure to support global vaccination will increase the risk of new variants of the virus and the emergence of new waves of the virus.

In addition to calling for a global cease-fire, Raab will stress the importance of overcoming logistical obstacles to vaccine delivery, such as storage and supply chain issues. He hopes the international community will monitor vaccine deliveries and the extent to which groups are complying with the terms of the ceasefire.
