Shandong a gold mine fire led to the death of six people, the province’s underground non-coal mine faces a thorough investigation

According to the news released on Wednesday by the official microblog of Yantai City Government Information Office in Shandong Province, a fire broke out in Caojiawa Gold mine in Xiaadian Town, Zhaoyuan City at around 6 p.m. on Feb. 17 due to underground equipment maintenance, resulting in a total of six people killed and four people ascending to the well. So far, the authorities have deployed firefighting, mining rescue and other professional forces nearly 200 people to carry out rescue.

The Shandong Provincial Emergency Management Department website also released news that day, the department held an emergency video conference on production safety in the province, requiring that from now on, all underground non-coal mines in the province immediately carry out a comprehensive safety inspection.

The authorities promised that for underground non-coal mining enterprises to “pass a, resume production of a”, the deadline for rectification is still not qualified, will be closed.
