Biden: Every day I wake up and ask, “Where the hell are we?

Biden was speaking at a CNN town hall in Wisconsin on the evening of Feb. 16 when CNN host Anderson Cooper threw a softball question at Biden, asking him what it’s like to live in the White House.

Anderson Cooper said, “You’ve spent a lot of Time at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (the address of the White House). It’s just that now you’re living there and you’re the president. It’s been four weeks. What does it look like? How is it different?”

Biden replied, “I wake up every morning, look at Jill, and say ‘Where the hell are we?'”

There was a chuckle from below at that statement, and then Biden continued, “Look, I’ve just been president for four weeks. Sometimes things move quickly, not because of the burden. I feel like it’s been four years, not because of the burden, but there’s so much going on. You’re always focused on one issue after another or one opportunity after another. The thing is, I didn’t realize that there were morning meetings every day. I’ve never lived in the White House, although I’ve been to the Oval Office countless times before when I was vice president. I was raised that you can’t expect to have anyone to wait on you. I now find myself a little embarrassed that there are so many wonderful people working in the White House.”

The U.S. media outlet Gateway Pundit commented on the situation, “It’s demented. Whose idea was it to have a demented Joe spouting off at a CNN town hall that was a dumpster fire of Biden gaffes, lies, racism and overall dumbness?”
