Pompeo: Solve two major challenges The next generation has unlimited potential

Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made clear in a tweet Tuesday (Feb. 16) the two biggest challenges facing the United States right now. If these two challenges are addressed, he said, the potential for the next generation of Americans is endless.

“Our biggest challenges today are the Communist threat and getting things right here at Home – we need to grow the economy and return to the traditions that made America so extraordinary. If we get those two things right, the potential for the next generation of Americans is endless.” Pompeo tweeted on Tuesday.

Pompeo has repeatedly urged the Biden administration to take the Chinese Communist threat seriously since he stepped down as U.S. secretary of state on Jan. 20.

In a Feb. 9 interview on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” Pompeo said he again urged the Biden Administration to be on high alert for the Chinese Communist threat.

Pompeo said he disagreed with the Biden administration’s rhetoric about cooperation with Beijing and said Biden should think more about protecting Americans.

“We don’t have to worry about how General Secretary Xi Jinping feels,” he said. “We should be thinking about protecting the American people …… We have to face the challenges that the Chinese Communist Party presents to the United States and to the world.”

Earlier in his first foreign policy speech since taking office, Biden acknowledged that the Chinese Communist Party is the United States’ “toughest competitor (adversary),” but he also said he would not rule out working with Beijing as long as it is in the U.S. interest.

Pompeo reminded Biden that it is important to judge the CCP by its actions rather than propaganda.

Pompeo warned the Biden administration on Twitter Feb. 5 not to revert to the foreign policy of the Obama administration. He said, “Reverting to allowing China [the Chinese Communist Party] to manipulate us? Go back to treating terrorists in Iran as friends? We can’t afford to go back to Obama’s failed foreign policy. We must continue to put America first and stand strong in the face of evil.”

Pompeo has made speeches during his tenure as secretary of state stressing the importance of returning to tradition. Last September, he spoke by video message to the United Nations General Assembly, where he called on people to return to traditional morality and defend the inalienable rights of human beings, known as basic human rights.

“People should return to tradition and focus on (traditional) morality, philosophy and religion to ensure the inherent rights of all people, which are the core rights of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.” Pompeo said.

“This work is critical. We must reconnect with the essence of human rights and regain the courage to defend them.” He said.
