A multinational technology company has issued an apology after an ad for a Silicon Valley information analyst allegedly discriminated against the Asian community by listing the requirement that the person must be “non-Asian.
The San Jose (Calif.) courier News reports that the ad for information consultants Aptude, which appeared on the business community site LinkedIn over the weekend, specified a job opening for an information analyst in the San Francisco Bay Area’s Menlo Park, who, in addition to having specific programming skills, “cannot be Asian” and “must not have work The report noted that this online job search is not only for a job in Menlo Park, San Francisco Bay Area, but also for a job in the information analysis field.
