Trump impeachment case ends with 57 to 43 vote to acquit

On Saturday (Feb. 13), the U.S. Senate took a final vote on the second Trump impeachment case. The result was 57 votes for impeachment and 43 votes against, not reaching the two-thirds needed to pass impeachment. The former president Trump was finally acquitted of all charges.

Because Trump has already left office as president, the main purpose of the Democratic Party’s impeachment is to prevent Trump from running for office again.

Trump lawyer Michael van der Veen insisted during the final arguments that the Democrats’ impeachment of Trump was hypocritical and called the process unconstitutional.

Van der Veen said, “Throughout the summer, Democratic leaders, including the current president and vice president, made repeated comments that provided moral comfort to mob attacks on police.”

Senator Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) voted not guilty, arguing, “It was a vote of conscience.” The vote saw seven Republican lawmakers favor convicting Trump.

Trump Lawyers List 301 Witnesses, Impeachment Team Abandons Calling Witnesses

The U.S. Senate impeachment trial against Trump was to end on Saturday (13), but the Democratic impeachment team suddenly made a temporary motion to subpoena witnesses and voted to pass it. The Democrats were forced to end their plans to call witnesses after an angry team of Trump lawyers then drew up a list of 301 witnesses.

On Saturday morning EST, after arguments between the prosecution and defense concluded, the impeachment team suddenly inserted a motion to call witnesses and it passed by a vote of 55-45. The impromptu addition to the proceedings added uncertainty to the end of the impeachment case and drew the ire of Trump’s legal team and Republican lawmakers.

According to a video leaked by a reporter at the scene, a man showed a female reporter a list of witnesses to be called by Trump’s legal team, indicating a total of 301 people, followed by the phrase “so far” in parentheses, meaning the list could continue to grow at a later date.

The list includes Speaker of the House Pelosi, Vice President He Jinli and Washington DC Mayor Bowser, among others. According to The Gateway Pundit, the Trump team asked Pelosi and others to explain why they repeatedly refused to raise security at the Capitol until Jan. 6.

According to the procedure, for each witness, the Senate has to vote on whether to subpoena the witness.

The Democratic impeachment team withdrew plans to call the witnesses after the Trump team made the aforementioned list. The impeachment process returned to the closing stages from the new. A final vote on the impeachment is expected to take place that day.

During the vote on the Democratic motion to subpoena witnesses, Republican Senator Graham originally voted against the motion, but changed his vote to support it at the last minute. He said Republicans also used the opportunity to call witnesses just in Time to prove Trump’s innocence.

As early as before the impeachment trial began, Graham had warned Democrats that it was best to end the drama as soon as possible, otherwise Republicans would call the FBI to testify to prove that the Jan. 6 storming of Congress was a pre-planned conspiracy.

The FBI arrested a number of registered Democrats and people who did not vote in the election, CNN confirmed recently.

Trump issues statement: Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement has just begun

The post-Trump presidential office issued a lengthy statement Feb. 13 on the congressional Senate’s acquittal of impeachment.

“I would like to begin by thanking my dedicated team of lawyers and others who have worked tirelessly to uphold justice and defend the truth.

“I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to all – those who proudly stand by the Constitution and sacred legal principles we all hold dear – the U.S. Senators and members of Congress, which are at the heart of our nation.

“The constitutional republic we cherish was founded on a just rule of law, and the rule of law is an indispensable guarantee of our freedoms and rights.

“It is a tragedy of our time that a political party is free to denigrate the rule of law, denigrate law enforcement, applaud mobs, excuse rioters, turn justice into countless political vendettas, persecute, blacklist, cancel and silence all who disagree with them and their views. I have been and will always be an unwavering proponent of the rule of law, a hero of law enforcement, and I embrace the right of Americans to be able to debate the issues of the day peacefully and honorably, without malice or hatred.

“This is another phase of the greatest witch hunt in our nation’s history. No president has ever experienced anything like this, and it continues because our opponents cannot forget that nearly 75 million people voted for us a few months ago, the highest number of votes ever cast for a sitting president.

“I also want to thank the millions of decent, hard-working, law-abiding, God- and country-loving citizens who have courageously supported these important principles during this very difficult and challenging time.

“Our history-making, patriotic and beautiful ‘Make America Great Again’ campaign is just beginning. I have much to share with you in the months ahead, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to make America great for all of us. There has never been anything like it!

“We have much work ahead of us, and soon we will emerge with a vision of a bright, brilliant, infinite future for America.

“Together, there is nothing we can’t accomplish.

“We remain one people, one Family and one glorious nation under God, and it is our responsibility to preserve that glorious legacy for our children and for future generations of Americans.

“May God bless all of you and may God bless the United States of America forever.”

Graham: Will meet with Trump to discuss future of Republican Party

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said she is planning to meet with former President Trump to discuss the future of the Republican Party.

Graham told reporters Friday (Feb. 12) in Washington, D.C., that he wants Trump to work with Republicans to flip the GOP in the House and Senate in the 2022 midterm elections.

Graham said, “I’m going to try to convince him, ‘We can’t do it (flip the House and Senate) without you, but you can’t keep the Trump movement going without Republican unity.'”

Graham added, “Trump has to work with everybody,” and “you’ve got to put your best team on the battlefield …… If you put your best team on the battlefield, we’ve got a decent chance of coming back. “

Trump senior adviser Jason Miller (Jason Miller) said last month on the former White House chief strategist’s political show War Room that Trump will “make sure” Republicans win the House in 2022.

Miller said Trump has a lot of financial support, he has a big reputation and “he’s going to get that done.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach on Jan. 28.

Trump’s team said the two discussed several topics, but the top priority was “taking back the House” for Republicans in the 2022 midterm elections.

Trump’s popularity has never been stronger than it is today,” the Trump team said, “and his endorsement (of the endorsement) means more than perhaps any time, any endorsement.”

The Trump team added, “Trump has agreed to work with Leader McCarthy to help make the Republicans the majority party in the House (of Representatives) (election).”

Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. urged Republicans on Feb. 9 to step up and address election integrity issues or they will never win another election.

In a Feb. 9 interview on Fox News’ “Laura Ingraham Show,” Donald Jr. said Republican lawmakers had better learn from this and make sure “we really have fairness in our elections, make sure we really get things right” and make sure they can’t be manipulated in this way. Otherwise, they won’t even be able to keep their jobs as legislators in a few years.

U.S. Civil Guard: 5,000 troops to be stationed in Beijing

The Pentagon has approved a plan that would allow 5,000 National Guard personnel to remain in Washington, D.C., indefinitely after mid-March.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has approved a plan to keep 7,000 National Guard members in Washington, D.C., until March 12, according to the U.S. military newspaper Stars and Stripes. After that date, 5,000 troops will be retained indefinitely.

Sullivan Speaks Out: CCP Must Give Earliest Data on CCP Virus

The WHO mission to China did not find significant evidence of the origins of the New Guinea Epidemic, and on Saturday, February 13, U.S. National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan said the United States “has strong concerns and questions about the way the initial New Guinea findings were released and the process” and that “in order to better To better understand the pandemic and prepare for the next one, China must give the earliest data on the outbreak,” he said.

He noted that “this investigation report must be independent and the experts’ findings must be free from any interference or alteration by the Chinese government.

Apollo.com commentator Wang Duran said Sullivan is just talking and it is hard to produce real results if there are no corresponding measures to follow up.

Biden Administration calls off WeChat and TikTok ban lawsuit

To protect national security, the U.S. Trump Administration ordered the blocking of two Chinese social programs, TikTok and WeChat, last year, but it was blocked by the district court and the Justice Department subsequently appealed. But after the Biden administration came to power, the Department of Justice recently called a halt to the relevant appeal cases one after another.

On February 10, the U.S. Department of Justice applied to the federal appeals court to stay the hearing of two appeals regarding the ban on TikTok (China’s ShakeYin international version).

On February 11, the DOJ used the same tactic to handle the Wechat (the overseas version of China’s WeChat) appeal.

The DOJ’s maneuvering delayed the Trump administration’s chances of a flip-flop in its quest to block TikTok and WeChat.

TikTok has a huge user base among U.S. teens. WeChat, on the other hand, is used primarily among Chinese Americans and Chinese students. The software is suspected of collecting information about U.S. users on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party and of trying to interfere in U.S. politics.

District courts have blocked blocking orders against WeChat and TikTok due to lawsuits filed by U.S. users. According to U.S. media reports, these lawsuits were “carefully orchestrated” by the Chinese side.
