The National Archives reports that Joe Biden used the anniversary of the school shooting to call for strict national gun control. Biden called for background checks, banning magazines, banning “assault weapons” and holding manufacturers accountable.
Joe Biden used the anniversary of the horrific Parkland school shooting – which was carried out by someone the FBI repeatedly ignored – as an excuse to demand that Congress pass the kind of strict gun legislation that far-left activists have demanded for years.
“Today, as we mourn with the Parkland community, we also mourn for all those who have lost loved ones to gun violence.” In a White House statement, the Biden regime declared that “this administration will not wait for the next mass shooting to answer that call.”
The Biden Administration then demanded that “Congress enact common sense gun law reform, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and removing immunity from gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.”
It is worth noting that the average American does not own a “weapon of war” or an “assault weapon.” Instead of using AR-15 rifles or their other semi-automatic counterparts, the military now uses fully automatic weapons such as the American M-16 and M-4 carbines, the Chinese Type 95 automatic rifle, and the Russian AK-74 assault rifle. Automatic weapons have been unavailable for purchase in the United States since 1986, when the U.S. government made them illegal.
While many gun control proponents insist that “assault weapons” must include AR-15s, many mistakenly believe that AR stands for “assault rifle” rather than the original manufacturing company, ArmaLite, Inc.
Earlier, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) was advocating a “red flag law” in the U.S. Senate that would allow Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland – who has fantasized about denying Americans their Second Amendment rights since 2000 – to strip guns from any American under investigation for domestic terrorism, even if no charges or arrests have been made. even if no charges or arrests have been made.
On Feb. 2, Rubio reintroduced the bill he has been pushing since the 2016 Pulse radical Islamic terror attack in Orlando. The bill calls for stripping individuals under investigation for domestic terrorism of the ability to own or purchase guns, a move Rubio somehow believes “would also provide law enforcement agencies with more authority to pursue suspected terrorists while safeguarding the Second Amendment and due process rights of law-abiding citizens.”
According to Rubio’s website, the bill would “allow the U.S. Attorney General to delay a purchase or transfer for up to 10 business days and file an emergency petition with a court to block the transfer when an individual who has been the subject of a federal terrorism investigation within the past 10 years attempts to obtain a firearm. The Attorney General may arrest an individual if the court finds probable cause that the individual is engaging in or has engaged in terrorist activity.”
Previously, a Missouri sheriff had also vowed to arrest any federal agent who entered his jurisdiction for the purpose of enforcing potentially unconstitutional gun laws enacted by the Biden administration.
