Sensitive moment Britain becomes G7 host country, will convene network meeting to formulate strategy against Chinese Communist Party

British Prime Minister Johnson plans to hold a meeting of the Group of Seven leaders’ network on Feb. 19 to form a united front against the coronary Epidemic and to begin work on a joint strategy toward China.

According to diplomatic documents seen by Bloomberg, senior diplomats working to prepare for that meeting also held preliminary discussions on how to deal with China and what language to use in the final version of the summit communique in June.

The U.K. has also proposed a 10-point recovery plan, a declaration on great crest disease preparedness and a statement promoting open societies, democratic values and human rights for signing by the G-7 and this year’s three invited guests, Australia, South Korea and India.

The UK plans to hold the face-to-face leaders’ summit in Cornwall, on the southwest coast of England. Britain is hosting the G-7 meeting at a delicate moment, seeking to rebuild trust within the multilateral organization while also seeking to forge its own path after Brexit.

A British government spokesman would not comment.
