A patient in France who recovered from an earlier diagnosis of New Coronavirus (CCP) has recently been re-infected with the South African variant of New Coronavirus and is now in critical condition, according to doctors, the first case of its kind.
The 58-year-old patient, who has asthma problems, developed fever and breathing difficulties in September last year, and was tested for the new coronavirus and confirmed, but his symptoms lasted only a few days. By December he was tested two more times and the results were negative, meaning he was cured. However, he was admitted to hospital last month with a South African variant of the virus, and his condition continued to deteriorate to critical, and he now needs a ventilator to survive.
The Oxford University Press medical infectious diseases journal (Clinical Infectious Diseases) announced the case last week, saying that after 4 months of mild symptoms of Newcastle pneumonia, he was again infected with the South African variant of the virus and developed serious symptoms, which is the first case.
