Recent earthquakes in the region near Xinjiang, China, have continued to occur, and another earthquake of about 6.1 magnitude scale occurred in Tajikistan and near the border area of Xinjiang, China, on February 13.
China Seismological Network (CSN) determined that a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Tajikistan (38.15 degrees north latitude, 73.55 degrees east longitude) at 01:01 on February 13, with a depth of 100 kilometers.
A magnitude 5.9 earthquake occurred 35 kilometers west of Murghab, Tajikistan at 01:01 BST on February 13, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake was felt in Kashgar and Hotan, Xinjiang, and in Pakistan and New Delhi, India.
Netizens in Tumushuk, Xinjiang, said, “This earthquake shook me so much that I almost rolled and fled.”
Netizens in Kashgar Bachu County, Xinjiang: “ready to sleep suddenly felt the bed moving, really Xinjiang earthquake, thought it was a hallucination, scared to death, hugging the already sleeping daughter!”
There are also netizens who said, “I was about to fall asleep when the bed moved around, and I thought it was my hallucination”, “Yecheng tremors are obvious, I was following the bed a piece of shaking!”
In Srinagar, the capital of Indian-controlled Jammu and Kashmir, some residents ran from their houses to the street.
Recently, earthquakes have been occurring in the region near Xinjiang.
At 2056 hours on February 11, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 23 kilometers in Gashi County (39.63 degrees north latitude, 77.35 degrees east longitude), Kashgar region, Xinjiang.
At 06:40 on February 10, a 3.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Huocheng County, Yili Prefecture, Xinjiang (44.40 degrees north latitude, 80.76 degrees east longitude), with a depth of 22 km.
At 23:38 on February 7, a 3.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Wucha County, Kizilsu Prefecture, Xinjiang (latitude 39.41°N, longitude 74.53°E), with a depth of 8 km.
At 01:34 on February 3, a 3.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in Tashkurgan County, Kashgar, Xinjiang (epicenter at 36.15 degrees north latitude, 76.51 degrees east longitude), with a depth of 10 km.
At 21:42 on January 21 this year, a 4.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Yecheng County, Kashgar region, Xinjiang (36.68 degrees north latitude, 76.94 degrees east longitude), with a depth of 100 km.
