A deadly shooting in Connecticut on Saturday, the Chinese-born Kevin Jiang was a Yale master’s student, aged 26; the 29-year-old MIT doctoral student involved in the case, Qinxuan Pan, is currently wanted by police in the United States, accused of possessing firearms, very dangerous. Qinxuan Pan is from Shanghai and is a senior student at MIT who won 29th place worldwide in the International Mathematics Olympiad.

At 8:30 p.m. last Saturday, Kevin Jiang was shot multiple times and died outside his car at the age of 26 in East Rock, New Haven, Conn. Police believe the incident is related to an earlier traffic accident and altercation, and are looking for Pan Qinxuan in the case.
He was enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2009. In an interview with Asian Fortune News that same year, he said he was from Shanghai and immigrated to the United States in June 2006, settling in Maryland where he began studying piano and won several regional Music awards within three years.
In 2009, he represented the United States in the International Mathematical Olympiad and won the silver medal, ranking 29th in the world. After graduating from undergraduate school, Chin-Hsuan Pan stayed at MIT to pursue his PhD in artificial intelligence and became a researcher at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL).

Kevin Jiang, who was killed, was born in Chicago and moved to Seattle with his Family. After graduating from the University of Washington, he was pursuing a master’s degree at the School of the Environment at Yale University. Kevin Jiang is a retired U.S. Army veteran who served as a tank operator and a “chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear officer,” Yale said. Kevin Jiang was recently engaged to his fiancée and celebrated his 27th birthday this week, police said.

The police said that for the Time being, Pan Qinxuan is not listed as a suspect in the shooting, but he is said to be in possession of a gun, which is very dangerous; in addition, he is suspected of possessing a stolen vehicle, and has obtained a relevant arrest warrant.

Police said that Pan Qinxuan reported his address as 193 Clifton Street in Malden, Massachusetts, and his last location was the Best Western Hotel at 201 Washington Avenue in Connecticut. If you find his whereabouts, you should call the police as soon as possible. The local “World Journal” quoted sources as saying that Pan Qinxuan had driven into Staten Island in New York City.
