Hong Kong’s top officials “jump ship” Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Marshal Chan resigns.

The Hong Kong government announced that the Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr. Chan Shuai-fu, resigned due to personal health reasons, he is now on leave and will leave on the 28th of this month. Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Tsang Kwok-wai thanked Chan for his contribution during his term of office and wished him good health and a happy Life.

Chan, 48, reportedly graduated from CUHK in 1994 with a degree in history and joined the government in 1994 as Assistant Commissioner for Tourism, Administrative Assistant to the Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, and Assistant Director of Home Affairs.

He is now the Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, and is believed to be the highest ranking Hong Kong government official to have “fled” recently.
