Zhao Lijian tweeted about homosexuality, which led to a hot debate on the Internet

Since he took office, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian’s Twitter account has been found to be following former Japanese AV actress Aoi Air, Romanian AV actress and several pornographic websites, and recently his Twitter account has been exposed to be following gay pornography accounts, which has sparked public attention and hot debate on the Internet.

On February 11, Zhao Lijian’s official Twitter account @zlj517 followed a gay porn account named “qornograficx”, which was caught by foreign netizens and recorded a video to satirize it.

The video was posted on the Youtube self-publishing account “ADVChina”, in which two broadcasters satirized Zhao Lijian’s “pornographic” incident.

One of the hosts said, “Friends, here’s a funny thing, I have a follower, it’s an old follower, and he sent me a message, which is none of my business. In fact, this is the second Time it’s happened, and it’s another Chinese (Communist) government official.”

“What was it? I got a link to a gay porn Twitter channel, yes. I thought it was some kind of spamming thing. Indeed, a spam message. When I opened it, the content inside said it was a real warped diplomat. I thought it was supposed to be something more important,” the broadcaster said.

“And what did I find, this gay porn Twitter account has War Wolf diplomat Zhao Lijian among its followers, indeed. That’s so funny, it’s not a fabrication, we saw it live. Yes, if I reload the interface, it says followed by Zhao Lijian, and you click on it, this is him, with the Twitter blue authentication tag, this is definitely him. He’s the guy who’s talking about the fake photos of Australian soldiers killing children in Afghanistan. Yes, he’s really a low quality person, we should say he’s a top war-wolf diplomat.”

“The interesting thing about this is that this is not the first time a Chinese (Communist Party of China) government official has been caught in flagrante delicto. The first time was Liu Xiaoming, the Chinese (CCP) ambassador to the UK, who was caught liking a pornographic tweet. The Chinese recused themselves and said his account had been hacked, etc. I think the funny thing about this is because whenever he likes something, it’s said he was hacked or something.”

The podcaster added, “Remember they said it was done by the so-called anti-China forces. If I were an anti-Chinese force, if I were say someone who had the ability to hack into computers, I would post something like liberate Uyghurs or liberate Tibetans or something, absolutely. It wouldn’t be to give credit to a pornographic tweet. Yes, I can’t wait to see how they explain this.”

The video has been widely retweeted and hotly debated overseas. As of yet, there has been no official explanation from the Chinese Communist Party or Zhao Lijian himself on the matter.

Commenting on the incident, an American stand-up comedian with the Youtube account “Leroy Farley” said, “I don’t think Zhao Lijian, the war-wolf diplomat, seems to have learned the lesson of Liu Xiaoming, the Chinese ambassador to the UK.

He said, “Liu Xiaoming made the same mistake some time ago, using his official account to watch pornography. I think it’s funny that the Communist Party has to pretend to be perfect, and in the process of doing everything they can to maintain that image, they backfire and make themselves look even more stupid, i.e. absolutely no disgrace, absolutely no admission of any mistake.”

Chinese Communist diplomat caught repeatedly

On February 24 last year, Zhao Lijian, deputy director of the Information Department of the Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made his first appearance at a regular press conference as the new spokesperson. When introducing Zhao Lijian to the media, Hua Chunying, who is also the spokesperson, described him as “a man whose voice is already heard before he is seen.

The day after Zhao Lijian took up his new post, some netizens discovered that the Communist diplomat’s Twitter account was following the account of former Japanese AV actress Aoi Air. The netizens also found that Zhao Lijian even left messages with photos of other erotic actresses.

Aoi Air was once an iconic figure in The Japanese AV industry, and is also widely known in mainland China. But in the official circles of the Chinese Communist Party, which claims to be “great, glorious and correct”, Aoi Air is “respected and distant”.

One netizen tweeted sarcastically, “Ms. Aoi is in an industry that the CCP cannot compare to, it is beyond the realm of the unforgivable.” “From the communist co-wives in the early years of the CCP to the lewdness of Mao Zedong to the current corruption and degradation of CCP officials, the CCP has nevertheless consistently presented itself as great and honorable.”

This is despite the fact that Zhao Lijian unfollowed Aoi on Twitter and also blocked a number of accounts that posted negative comments about him. However, Zhao Lijian repeatedly made the mistake.

A few months later, Zhao Lijian’s Twitter account was criticized after it was discovered that he was following pornographic websites and Romanian AV actresses. After the scandal was revealed, Zhao Lijian again unfollowed these pornographic accounts.

Shortly before Zhao Lijian’s following of a gay pornography account was revealed on February 11, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman was also caught following another pornographic Twitter account and was mocked by netizens.

Zhao Lijian’s incident is not an isolated case. On September 9 last year, the Chinese ambassador to the UK, Liu Xiaoming, was found to have liked a post with pornographic content and was ridiculed by the media and netizens. The CCP embassy then issued a statement to dispel the rumors.

After the incident, some British media mocked Liu Xiaoming for losing his face, and Luke de Pulford, a member of the British Conservative Party’s Human Rights Committee, reposted the pornographic post Liu Xiaoming liked and mocked him, then said he was a bit unkind to mock Liu Xiaoming, but “when I think of the Xinjiang people in concentration camps and Hong Kong (where the democracy movement was suppressed), I heart immediately balanced.”
