Michael T. van der Veen, a lawyer for Trump‘s anti-impeachment defense team, was reported by local media to have called Trump a liar, the Breitbart News reported on Wednesday (Feb. 10).
Justin Hiemstra, a former client of attorney van der Veen, told The Philadelphia Inquirer that that’s what attorney van der Veen said at the Time, “I’m not sure if attorney van der Veen was making me happy to hear that or if he was telling the truth, anyway, at the time he was representing me in my case, he was undoubtedly quite anti-Chuan.”
Attorney Vandeven represented Justin after he was prosecuted for allegedly illegally hacking into government databases and stealing Trump’s tax returns. Now, attorney Vandeven is one of several associate attorneys to Trump’s chief counsel Bruce Castor.
According to the Inquirer, Vandeven and his Philadelphia-based law firm had filed a lawsuit against President Trump and the U.S. Postal Service, alleging that Trump and Trump’s USPS, through restructuring, suppressed mail-in voting.
The Washington Post report said that during the first two years of Trump’s term, Vandeven donated to prominent Pennsylvania Democrats, including anti-Trump Sen. Bob Casey Jr.
