The Newton County, Missouri, Commission passed The Newton County Second Amendment Preservation Act this month to fully protect the gun rights of Newton County citizens, U.S. media outlet The National Archives reported Wednesday.
The bill reads, “All federal statutes, laws, orders, rules and regulations adopted by the federal government, and specifically by any presidential administration, whether past, present or future, that infringe upon the right of citizens to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment are void in Newton County, shall not be recognized by Newton County, and in particular shall be rejected by Newton County, and shall be deemed null and void in Newton County. “
The law also states that “any federal officer attempting to enforce the gun ban shall be arrested by the Newton County Missouri Sheriff’s Department,” “The Newton County Missouri Sheriff’s Department shall be fully authorized to arrest all federal agents who violate state law and enforce the gun ban.”
The Missouri Constitution clearly states, “Every citizen shall have the right to defend his house, person, Family and property, and for the protection of said right, the civil power of citizens to keep and bear arms, weapons, ammunition and appurtenances, shall not be questioned.”
The Biden administration is not the only threat to Second Amendment rights (the right to bear arms), as Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) recently sponsored a bill that seeks to deny gun rights to any citizen suspected by the federal government of being a “domestic terrorist,” even if that citizen is not required to be charged.
Biden’s choice for attorney general, Merrick Garland, has also been a consistent advocate of infringing on Second Amendment rights for decades.
