The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has abandoned its free speech focus in favor of “racial justice,” the National Pulse reported Wednesday.
The American Civil Liberties Union, or “ACLU,” is officially abandoning its First Amendment/freedom of speech focus and joining the growing “racial justice” industry, according to a new announcement from the organization, the report said.
On Monday, the 101-year-old organization announced, “President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have made many promises and pledges around racial justice and challenging systemic racial inequality. It’s Time to engage the ACLU in an effort to hold them accountable to those promises.”
The New York-based ACLU, with about 1.8 million members, has an annual budget of about $310 million.
Critics point out that a multimillion-dollar group adding its voice to a race issue in which corporate America has invested hundreds of billions of dollars is not a brave new shift for an entity that once opposed the corporate narrative.
Others are already claiming that the group – founded by a socialist who opposed U.S. involvement in World War I – is abandoning free speech because, although it took 101 years, socialism has now arrived in full force in the United States, and the ACLU now actually believes that free speech should be crushed, not helped.
In other words, free speech for them is just a stick to fight anti-socialism with.
The ACLU has sued the Trump administration 413 times.
