The Chinese Communist Party’s policy toward the United States has “three stupidities”

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) urgently needs to open up Sino-U.S. relations. But since Biden took office, he has not spoken to Xi Jinping so far, and bilateral contacts between China and the U.S. have not gone as well as the CCP would like. On the one hand, this shows that Biden’s policy toward China has not been fully set; on the other hand, this is also the result of the CCP’s stupidity in its policy toward the United States. The CPC’s stupidity is at least threefold.

The first stupidity is the lack of the ability to make a U-turn.

Originally, Biden’s coming to power brought an opportunity for a turnaround in U.S.-China relations, but the Chinese Communist Party just could not seize it. Cui Tiankai, the CCP’s ambassador to the United States, strongly criticized the United States, saying that “neither strong words nor strong tactics are an effective foreign policy, nor is it the right way to conduct diplomacy,” but in fact, this is precisely the standard way of the CCP’s current policy toward the United States. Whether it was Xi Jinping’s shouting to the U.S. at the Davos Forum or the first phone call between the CCP’s top diplomat Yang Jiechi and Secretary of State Amb Lincoln, the CCP’s posture was condescending and condescending, demanding the U.S. side to “correct its mistakes”, with no diplomatic etiquette or common sense at all.

The Chinese Communist Party is also very stupid to have such poor diplomacy with the United States. Where does the stupidity come from? On the surface, this is the CCP’s complacency about its full penetration of the United States and its involvement in the 2020 election; in essence, this is a manifestation of the CCP’s “losing its wisdom before death” and misjudging the general situation.

Secondly, it is stupid to misjudge the general situation.

The United States is the only superpower in the world today, China’s comprehensive national power is inferior to that of the United States by a large margin, and the basic situation is that the Chinese Communist Party is in need of the United States. If the new Cold War between the US and China started by the Trump administration continues, the Chinese Communist Party will not be able to bear it. The Chinese Communist Party is anxious for the Biden Administration to adjust U.S.-China relations back to the pre-Trump days. For example, the official media Xinhua News Agency issued a series of four commentaries from February 3 onwards, the themes of which were “the overall situation of China-US relations cannot be ruined”, “the bridge of people-to-people contact cannot be torn down”, “the trend of economic and trade exchanges cannot be stopped “and “the road of scientific and technological exchanges must not be broken”.

However, the Chinese Communist Party has judged that the United States is in decline, especially, the great plague hit the United States and the controversial 2020 election has greatly accelerated the decline of the United States, and the contrast between the power of China and the United States is changing significantly, and the day when China’s economy will replace the United States as the world’s number one will come early (there are also such views in the West. For example, the Center for Economics and Business Research, a British think tank, believes China will overtake the U.S. by 2028, five years earlier than previously predicted).

On Jan. 11, Xi Jinping spoke hesitantly at a seminar for leading cadres at the provincial and ministerial levels: the world today is experiencing a major change unprecedented in a century, but the Time and the situation are on our side, which is where our strength and strength, as well as our determination and confidence lie; at present and in the coming period, the opportunities and challenges are unprecedented, and on the whole the opportunities outweigh the challenges. These two judgments of Xi were actually expressed in the CCP’s diplomacy and relations with the United States before Xi’s speech this time.

The third stupidity, the “War Wolf” posture, was highlighted.

On Feb. 4, Biden gave his first foreign policy speech. Late that night, the Chinese Ministry of Defense suddenly announced that it had conducted a test of land-based mid-range anti-missile interception technology in its territory, and the test had achieved its intended purpose. In an article published by the Chinese Communist Party’s major foreign propaganda “Dovetail”, it is a “very precise military diplomatic tactic” against the Biden administration. The Chinese Communist Party’s “war wolf” posture toward the United States is evident here.

According to the research of Dr. Cheng Xiaonong, a scholar in the United States, in the first half of 2020, the Chinese Communist Party issued three consecutive nuclear threats to the United States, so Trump began to launch a comprehensive counter-attack in the military, espionage, economic and political fields in July, thus entering a new Cold War state between the United States and China. So far, the Chinese Communist Party has maintained its tough military posture, and has been pressing forward since the start of its military expansion and war preparations.

Conclusion

With such “three stupidities” in the CCP’s policy toward the U.S., even if Biden insists on “strategic patience,” how can Sino-U.S. relations be easily turned around? This stupidity of the Chinese Communist Party is actually a kind of madness. There is an old saying in China and abroad: “If heaven wants it to die, it will make it crazy.” From this perspective, probably the CCP is not far from its demise.
