The initiation of impeachment and the supporters’ attempts to convict Trump by means such as calling witnesses could provoke a backlash and get the opposite result. Pictured is Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Graham (Lindsey Graham), chairman of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
Lindsey Graham, chairman of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Graham (Lindsey Graham) warned that in the case of former President Donald Trump (Trump). If the majority party (Democrats) decides to call witnesses first in the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump (Trump), Republicans will call a host of top Democrats, including Biden and He Jinli, to testify.
On Feb. 9, the first day of impeachment proceedings against Trump, Senate Democrats and a handful of Republicans voted to force through that impeachment of the former president, who is already a private citizen, is not unconstitutional after the impeachment manager and the Trump team prosecution and defense each presented their case. The trial will continue. After that, Democrats will likely call witnesses in the next proceedings.
In response, Graham, who continues to defend Trump and oppose a second impeachment trial, said that if Democrats call witnesses to testify about what led to the Jan. 6 incident on Capitol Hill and what happened that day, then Republicans will also call Democrats who made similar comments about former President Trump (saying he “incited rebellion”).
The South Carolina Republican replied during a guest appearance on “Hannity,” “If the House (impeachment) manager wants to call a witness, then the defense will call all those who are named and then some.”
Graham said that if that were the case, those called to testify would include all the top Democrats and their top brass, such as Biden, Kamala Harris (D-N.Y.), and the House of Representatives. The Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and the Senate President’s Office, the Senate President’s Office, the Senate President’s Office, the Senate President’s Office and the Senate President’s Office. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-CA). The Senator, Cory Booker, and former Attorney General, Eric Holder. Eric Holder, among others.
He added: “For my colleagues, there are a hundred of us (senators). What we’re doing today is actually making history for the rest of America’s existence.”
Noting that what the people who initiated the so-called impeachment are doing is waging a war on American constitutionalism, Graham said, “What the Democrats are doing is basically declaring war on the presidency itself.”
Graham has repeatedly made scathing comments against the Democrats calling witnesses, which he likened to a “Pandora’s Box.”
He emphasized that they rushed through impeachment without asking a single witness before the Democrat-controlled House voted on impeachment on Jan. 13. Now, they want to convict Trump by calling witnesses again, and that will trigger a fight between the two sides.
If that’s the case, Graham warned hinted that all witnesses, including the FBI, would be called to reveal once and for all the culprits behind the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riot.
According to the Washington Post, the FBI is investigating the riots at the Capitol and has found evidence of a pre-planned coordinated attack.
