As of Feb. 4, the California civic campaign Recall Gavin 2020 had collected more than 1.4 million signatures, just shy of the required 1.5 million signatures. Pictured are residents holding signs for the recall of Governor Knudsen at a freedom rally in Walnut, SC.
As of Feb. 4, the “Recall Gavin 2020” campaign has collected more than 1.4 million signatures, one step away from the required 1.5 million signatures. Volunteers of all ethnicities are actively redistributing recall information in their communities, urging California voters to sign as soon as possible for the chance to remove the controversial Governor Newsom from office.
Every week for the past several months, people have been setting up “Recall Newsom” signatures on major streets, in front of shopping malls, on beaches, in parks and at protest sites in every city.
Orrin Heatlie, president of the “Recall Newsom” committee, the only officially authorized California Patriot League to promote the campaign, said that in the last week alone, more than 100,000 registered voters in California have signed a form supporting the recall of Newsom.
The recall campaign currently underway throughout California can successfully start the recall referendum process for Newsom as long as 1.5 million valid voter paper signatures are collected by March 17. At the current pace, the volunteers believe they can achieve this goal soon. However, to be on the safe side, the volunteers are aiming to collect 1.8 million valid voter signatures by March 10.
The promoters also tweeted to remind people that they should not take it lightly as those in power will do anything to stay in power, even attempting to hold a recall election hostage. The tweet also reads, “Don’t be complacent or overconfident. The recall case still needs 300,000 signatures to be able to participate in the special election. Please help us reach that goal before the March 10 deadline. Please download your petition at callgavin2020.com, fill it out, and mail it in today.”
Chinese-Americans respond positively to the recall campaign
Ms. Liu, a Chinese-American volunteer, said, “We go out every week and we meet a lot of people who come forward to us and ask for signatures to recall Newsom. Everyone is really fed up with him. His policies have not only ruined California’s economy, but also endangered everyone’s peaceful Life, and many people have moved away from California. With so many signatures this Time, the recall of Newsom is already a victory in sight.”
She mentioned that some volunteers compiled the reasons to recall Newsom item by item, translated them into different languages and printed them into flyers for distribution. “Take any one of them and it shows that this man is not worthy to be governor of California, he is here to ruin California.”
Among the nearly 20 reasons compiled by the volunteers are that Newsom has used taxpayer money to provide health care and social benefits to illegal immigrants, forced comprehensive sex Education in schools, allowed illegal immigrants and non-citizens to become high government officials; forced the University of California, state universities and city colleges to provide abortion pills to students, and protected illegal immigrants and violent criminals by creating sanctuary states and city policies.
It also includes the fact that under Newsom’s leadership, California has gone from an originally balanced budget to a $1.3 trillion deficit, California has the highest homeless population in the United States, the highest poverty rate in the nation, the highest personal and corporate income taxes, high rent and property taxes, mismanagement of funds and resources leading to the deterioration of poor schools and communities, infrastructure failure and neglect to use infrastructure for rehabilitation of allocated taxes, etc.
Signatures should be taken with a grain of salt
Volunteer Cindy cautions that there are several requirements to sign the form to recall Newsom, otherwise it will be voided even if you do. She said, “First of all, there is no electronic way to sign, only paper signature is valid. Everyone must go to the only official Recall Newsom 2020 website (recallgavin2020.com) to download the recall petition form.”
In addition, she said, “You must be a registered voter in California to sign the recall petition; different counties have different county collection forms, so be sure to download the correct form based on your address, and if you sign at a collection point, be sure to tell a volunteer which county you live in; the name, address and signature of the person signing must match the information you have when you register as a voter. Be sure to fill out the form with a blue or black pen and write in neat handwriting, not outside the lines or to the right of the signature area; if filling out the form on your own, you must fill out the references (Circulator) in order for it to be considered valid.”
If voters are unable to ensure that they are filling out the form correctly on their own, Cindy said, “People can come to us and find a signature collection point near their Home on the Recall Newsom website.”
