The National Pulse, a conservative U.S. media outlet, reported Feb. 8 that Biden quietly rescinded a Trump-era policy. The policy required elementary schools, high schools and higher Education institutions to disclose any partnership with Communist Party-funded Confucius Institutes.
On Dec. 31, 2020, the agreement was proposed-“Schools that establish accreditation for student and scholar exchange programs should disclose the requirements of their agreements with Confucius Institutes and classrooms.”
“The agreement requires that colleges and universities and K-12 educational institutions accredited for foreign exchange programs disclose any contracts, partnerships, or financial dealings from Confucius Institutes or classrooms (branches of Confucius Institutes in elementary and secondary schools),” Axios noted.
The Trump Administration‘s proposal is entirely necessary. According to the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), while the well-funded and controversial operation masquerades as a “language and cultural initiative,” in essence they have “close ties to Communist government agencies, are adept at disguise, and are involved in propaganda and intellectual property theft on behalf of the Communist government. They are also involved in propaganda and intellectual property theft on behalf of the CCP government.
However, Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) records show that Biden rescinded this policy on January 26, less than a week after he entered the White House.
Campus Reform News notes that “a spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed that the policy has been rescinded.”
