Lawyer in Trump impeachment case to show video of Democrats inciting violence
Bruce Castor, former President Trump’s lead impeachment defense attorney, said he will show video clips of top Democrats themselves making incitement to violence during the upcoming impeachment trial.
Castor said the defense team will stick to the strategy outlined in their brief to the Senate on Tuesday (Feb. 2), the Epoch Times compiled.
Trump’s defense team argued in the brief that “the Constitution requires impeachment against the person who actually holds office” and that Trump exercised his First Amendment right to free speech by challenging the results of the November election.
Casto also revealed that the defense team will show video clips of some of the top Democrats’ own comments inciting violence during the impeachment trial. The Senate impeachment trial is set to begin next week.
Casto noted that when rioters burned cities and attacked federal law enforcement officers after George Floyd’s death last summer, some Democrats across the United States cheered.
