Some Parents of the victims disclosed that the center had known about the pneumonia infection, but kept it from the new parents until more than a dozen babies were sent to the hospital, some even on ventilators, blood transfusions, and half of their lungs turned white.
Baby coughs for days, but caregivers know but repeatedly say “nothing”
According to several land media reports, in the past few days, the Shenyang Xinxiang Yueyue Time Moonchild Club has been experiencing symptoms of nasal congestion and coughing in children, but the moonchild center has been claiming that “it’s fine”, “normal”, “further observation”, etc., which eventually led to the spread of infection. However, the center kept claiming that it was “fine”, “normal”, “observe again”, etc., which eventually led to the spread of the infection, with 14 newborns diagnosed with syncytial virus pneumonia.
Zhang Jing (a pseudonym), the mother of one of the victimized babies, told the Epoch Times that she chose this monthly club close to her Home because she had no one to take care of her at home, and checked in on January 16. Her baby was placed in an 18-room nursery for intensive care.
Around Jan. 25, the caregiver told Zhang Jing that her baby had a cough, but said that “two coughs is nothing” and that she should observe.
Zhang Jing said, “They sterilize (nursery) when the child is pushed over (mother’s room) to observe, and then one day coughing more frequently, coughing six or seven times, I reflected to the caregiver, or said nothing, (said) because his nose is stuffy, may breathe through the mouth, throat dry or choke to milk, and then cough two.” “The company’s main goal is to provide a comprehensive range of products and services to the public.
But on the following day, Zhang Jing found that her child was gasping for air, not sleeping soundly and waking up all the time. She went to the caregiver again, and the answer was still “It’s okay, just use a hot hand towel and you’ll be fine”.
This time, Zhang Jing did not listen to the nurse. She said, “(I) let my husband take the child to the hospital, I just think even if there is nothing wrong, to his nose well, the child does not suffer ah.”
On January 31, the child was diagnosed with “ninety percent pneumonia” by the Shenyang Women and Infants Hospital, and then transferred to the Children’s Hospital for hospitalization.
Zhang Jing later learned that the club had a newborn with pneumonia as early as January 12, four days before she checked in, but the club had been hiding the situation. She said, “If we had been notified, I wouldn’t have chosen to stay at the center”, “because the children’s immunity is quite low, in case something is infected, adults are also quite worried. But they did not notify us.”
Zhang Jing said that the monthly club is a fast hotel conversion, the maternity room more than ten square meters large. She chose a service level of 13,800 yuan a month, plus other items such as postnatal rehabilitation, for a total cost of more than 20,000 yuan. In addition, she was afraid of not being able to take care of her baby, so she added another 2,000 yuan for a caregiver.
Delayed illnesses, multiple babies in intensive care
When she was checking in for her children, Zhang Jing’s husband met the caregiver from the club. When asked, the caregiver said he was accompanying the father of the other room, whose child was also sick.

After nucleic acid testing, the Shenyang CDC concluded that the children were suffering from syncytial virus pneumonia. Zhang Jing said, “Because they are not enough 28 days, are more than ten days, some or a few days of the baby, living in the incubator, and then on the ventilator or something, serious on the ventilator.”
In addition, due to listen to the advice of the nursing staff “re-observation”, the babies were delayed for three or four days before being sent to the hospital, the situation is very serious.

Of the 14 newborns infected with pneumonia, about 10 are still hospitalized.
The month of the club: no compensation to go to legal proceedings
After the incident, the monthly club Huanggu store has been closed, but the store’s attitude toward customers is bad.
Zhang Jing said, “the contract is written if the moon center side of the accident, we are out of the house early, it pays all that club costs.” But the reality is: “The monthly club now let us go through the legal process, mediation can not, not a penny compensation.”
“The person in charge of the monthly club, we have not heard a word of apology (from them) now, nor do they think about us, they all feel that we are now blackmailing money.”
In addition, no one is in charge of the child’s medical expenses, and currently can not buy commercial insurance if they want to. Zhang Jing’s Family has paid 15,000 to the hospital, I do not know if it is enough, and I do not know when the child can be discharged.
I do not know which department is ready to defend the rights
At the same time, the child’s father ran through the various industrial and commercial bureau, the URA and the prevention and control department, to clarify which department is specifically responsible for this matter. But as of now, they have not found the answer.
Zhang Jing said, “We really have no choice, we will think of looking for the media, because the relevant departments have also sought before, who did not understand, and then do not know which department should come forward, can only go this way, but also quite helpless and helpless.”
They hope to work with other victims’ families to defend their rights, “more people have more power.”
It is reported that some of the parents decided to sue the Moonchild Club, but also nine families let each other give a refund plan, and signed the refund instructions.
On February 6, the manager of the Moonchild Club, Li told Land Media, “The refund instructions are still valid, and we would like to do so (to deal with), but there are still many uncertainties here.”
He also said that he is currently under investigation by the market regulator, the cause of the matter, the source of the virus, etc. is also still under investigation, it is not convenient to respond.
