Fox News has canceled the evening show of well-known conservative host Lou Dobbs, according to the Los Angeles Times. Dobbs, one of Fox’s veteran hosts and a Trump supporter, has repeatedly spotlighted the issue of massive voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election. The practice has sparked condemnation from conservative Americans.
Dobbs’ show “Lou Dobbs Tonight” was Fox’s highest-rated program from 2011-2021. The Los Angeles Times said Dobbs’ show is expected to air for the last Time on Friday (Feb. 5), and starting next week, it will become “Fox Business Tonight” with rotating replacement hosts Jackie DeAngelis and David Asman. (Asman).
The news comes as voting machine company Smartmatic filed a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit this week against Fox News, Dobbs, and prominent Fox conservative hosts Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro.
Dobbs, 75, is still signed to Fox News, but it is highly unlikely he will appear on the company’s live network again, reports said, adding that he may still occasionally serve as a commentator on the Fox News Channel.
The news sparked outrage among conservative American netizens, with some saying Dobbs’ show was one of the few he could watch on Fox News.
Larry Hall: “I haven’t watched Fox since the day after the election, but I still think Dobbs is one of the best of them, so I hope he’ll be a good, conservative network guy for OANN or another good, conservative network and will welcome him with open arms.”
Holmes Croteau: “Lou, you’re telling the truth, and we won’t forget it. Don’t ever back down.”
P. Leigh: “Other than Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs is the only person at Fox who is worth listening to. Well, Fox has just screwed itself. I hope Lou finds himself a better stage to perform on, and he deserves it.”
Dobbs had invited Powell’s lawyer to speak out on the live platform during the election to talk about issues related to election machine fraud. He has been outspoken in saying that the issue of election fraud should be given enough attention.
