Wisconsin Senate rejects governor’s muzzle order, one hour after governor’s decree comes out again

U.S. media outlet Gateway Pundit reported on February 4 that Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued a new statewide mask order just an hour after Republican state lawmakers voted to repeal a previous mask order.

The Republican-led Wisconsin Senate voted 18 to 13 last Tuesday (Jan. 26) to overturn Democratic Gov. Tony Evers’ (R) statewide masking mandate.

This comes after Governor Evers also issued a 60-day emergency order in August 2020 to continue to extend the illegal wearing of masks. That gubernatorial emergency order, which was also rescinded by the Republican-controlled Legislature in a 52-42 vote this Thursday (Feb. 4), takes effect Friday.

The legislature was the closest to voters who favored repealing the masking requirement, but dictator Governor Evers ignored the will of the people represented by the legislature and issued a new emergency order just an hour after Thursday’s vote, including a statewide requirement to wear masks.

Evers addressed Republican lawmakers via video into, “If the legislature continues to play politics by not allowing people to wear masks, we will see more preventable deaths and it will take longer to get our state’s economy back on track without masks.”
