Boston Dynamics’ robot dog Spot can now charge itself. Today, the company announced the launch of Spot Enterprise, a new robot that features a charging cradle that can recharge its batteries without any human interaction.
The robotics company also announced the launch of Scout, a new browser-based control system that provides a simplified interface to operate the Spot robot dog online, as well as a new robotic arm that helps the robot “grasp, lift, carry, place and drag a wide variety of objects.
Last June, Boston Dynamics announced that the Spot Explorer robot dog would be available to anyone who could afford to pay the $74,500 price tag.
Today’s announcement is a response to a variety of features requested by early buyers of Spot. The company says there are currently more than 400 Spot Explorer robotic dogs located around the world.
