Deaths and adverse reactions after vaccinations increase California nurses refuse to give shots

A first responder on Long Island, N.Y., receives a Pfizer vaccine for the Chinese Communist virus (COVID-19) on Dec. 23.

Authorities are still investigating whether these deaths were caused by the vaccine, according to data updated Jan. 22 by the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (vaers.hhs.gov), which shows that 251 people have died in the United States after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. In California, there is skepticism about the reliability of the vaccine, and many nurses have decided not to take the shot for now.

In addition to the reported deaths, a search of CDC Wonder showed that 9,297 people were reported to have had adverse reactions to the vaccine, including Life-threatening, permanent disabilities, episodes of congenital disease, hospitalizations, and emergency room admissions.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announcement noted that these VAERS data are typically updated every Friday. The VAERS website describes that such reports can be submitted voluntarily by anyone, including health care providers, patients or Family members. VAERS accepts all reports without judging whether the event was caused by the vaccine, and the person submitting the report is not required to prove that the event was caused by the vaccine. And although the system is a federal database, it does not automatically collect reports, but only serves as an early warning effect.

However, in early January, an Orange County health care worker died a few days after receiving a second dose of a Pfizer vaccine, and the cause of death is under investigation. The Price County (Placer County) Sheriff’s Office and Public Health Department also said Jan. 23 that they are investigating the case of a man who died hours after receiving the vaccine.

In addition, several California localities last month called an emergency halt to vaccinations against the Chinese communist virus. Dr. Erica S. Pan, an epidemiologist and California health official, has also recommended stopping a batch of Moderna vaccine. The reason was that after the vaccine was administered, “nearly 10 people developed severe allergic reactions within 24 hours that required medical attention.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Pfizer vaccine may cause side effects such as headache, muscle pain, chills, joint pain, nausea, swollen lymph nodes, etc. In severe cases, symptoms such as difficulty breathing and a generalized rash may occur, and a serious allergic reaction requires a call to 911 or a visit to the nearest hospital.

Ms. A, a nurse at a Riverside County nursing Home in Southern California, said she herself is distrustful of the vaccine, so she has not been vaccinated so far. She said, “I don’t plan to get vaccinated either. I just feel like there are a lot of unanswered questions (related to the vaccine). And we really don’t know what side effects will occur.”

However, while the nurses have the right to choose for themselves whether or not to get the vaccine, the elderly in the nursing home are required to get it, and are only told that getting the vaccine will protect them from contracting the CCP virus, so some of them have already gotten it twice, Ms. A. said, “They [the elderly] are the ones who want it, and just feel that the vaccine will do something to protect them. But the administrators don’t seem to have discussed it with them, or they simply don’t know about the side effects of the vaccine in question.”

Ms. A. mentioned that not only did she herself not want the vaccine, but many of her colleagues were resistant. “There are a lot of people who really don’t want to be vaccinated. Those of us who haven’t been vaccinated yet, we want to wait and see what happens.”

California’s sudden unsealing raises questions during the aggravation phase of the outbreak

As of Feb. 4, California led the nation with nearly 3.3 million people diagnosed with the CCP virus and more than 40,000 deaths, while a variant of the virus was found to be circulating in the community. Under this circumstance, the California government, which has been strictly enforcing the home vaccination order since last March, suddenly issued an unconventional unsealing order. At the same Time, the state government, county governments, and various labor unions have begun to vigorously promote the issue of vaccination, leaving many people puzzled.

Recently, California announced the discovery of the CAL.20C variant strain and a variety of highly infectious mutant viruses, and as of February 2, there were 127 confirmed cases of the British B.1.1.7 Variant virus in California. On the 28th of last month, the Centers for Disease Control also announced that variants of the CCP virus found in various parts of the country will cause at least 80,000 infections and deaths in the next month.

Ms. Zhang, a nurse working at the Kaiser Permanente system, said that according to her observations during her work, the current outbreak is more serious than last March, and there are not enough beds in the ICU.

Ms. A also said that many of her colleagues have been diagnosed positive. Last year, when the Epidemic was not so serious in California, they were determined not to open California, but now when the epidemic worsened, they suddenly unblocked it, which caught people a bit off guard and confused why the state government suddenly changed its policy.
