U.S. Defense Secretary deploys entire military to fight “right-wing extremism” in brewing political purge

The U.S. military, which has many Trump supporters, worked “less than happily” with the Biden team during the regime change. After the new defense secretary took office, he fired all members of the Pentagon Policy Advisory Board. The new defense secretary recently ordered a 60-day moratorium on regular activities, specifically to combat “white supremacy and right-wing extremism” in the military.

A Pentagon spokesman said Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met with the U.S. military’s top brass Wednesday (3) and ordered the U.S. military to choose a point in Time within 60 days to suspend normal military activities and for all units to have “the necessary dialogue and discussion” with their troops on the subject.

The spokesman said “extremism has long been a problem for the military” and that the Jan. 6 incident in Congress was “a wake-up call” that Austin was “determined to address extremism in the U.S. military. “

The Defense Department did not disclose the length of the U.S. military’s suspension of activities, nor did it mention what specific actions would be taken. The spokesman said the military has not yet determined how to deal with “extremism,” so the Defense Department called a meeting with the military to discuss.

Before that, however, the Pentagon had already taken action.

Austin on Monday ordered the firing of all members of the Pentagon Policy Advisory Board, including Trump’s last-minute nominees, as well as members appointed by previous administrations.

Austin said in the memo that all members of the Pentagon’s 31 advisory committees will be fired. Another 40 advisory committees will undergo a so-called “zero-based review” (zero-based review) to decide whether to disband or dismiss members.

During the transition of power in the U.S. government, the Biden team repeatedly criticized the Trump Administration‘s Defense Department for “delaying the transition.
