U.S. media outlet Breitbart News reported Wednesday, Feb. 3, that California Democratic U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters said on a television show Tuesday that former President Trump “absolutely should be charged with premeditated murder” for inciting the deadly Jan. 6 riots on Capitol Hill.
The black congresswoman said on Microsoft’s MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” program, “What’s so interesting about all of this is that they are really going after the president of the United States who had a premeditated plan to invade Congress, and yet at the same Time they’re trying to make themselves look like victims. There is even information that certain premeditated invasion plans were made by certain individuals involved in this insurgency. In fact, Trump should absolutely be charged with premeditated murder because of the loss of Life caused by the invasion and insurgency.”
She continued, “Yes, we (members of Congress) are threatened. We must do everything we can to ensure that justice is served. Let the president of the United States sit down and watch the video of the invasion and the uprising, which he knows he absolutely started and, as some of them have said, he (Trump) invited us to come, we came at the invitation of the president of the United States. When he (Trump) gathered the rally, he said go to the Capitol and fight hard, this is taking back your country. If that’s not inciting the kind of violence we’re witnessing, what is it?”
