Retaliation? Linwood under investigation by Georgia Secretary of State

U.S. media outlet Breitbart News reported Feb. 3 that sources in the Georgia Secretary of State’s office confirmed to Breitbart News that attorney Linwood is being investigated for allegedly violating Georgia’s rules on residency in the 2020 general election.

Attorney Linwood had claimed widespread voter fraud occurred during the Nov. 3 general election and encouraged the people of Georgia Asia to boycott the results. Now, George Asia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is investigating whether the Linwood attorney who made the early vote in George Asia was a legal resident of George Asia at the Time, according to state records.

WSB-TV, the flagship television station of the Cox Media Group in Atlanta, Georgia, made public earlier Tuesday day Linwood’s response to the attorney’s license matter, in which Linwood wrote in an email, “I have been settled in South Carolina for several months since purchasing real estate in April in South Carolina months.” “My decision to change my residency to South Carolina has nothing to do with a politically motivated move by the Georgia State Bar.”

On the same night WSB-TV released news of the investigation into Linwood by Laffensperger’s office, the Secretary of State’s office told NBC, “The problem is that Linwood has been settled in South Carolina for several months, according to an email he sent to WSB-TV reporter Justin Gray. The investigation is ongoing.”

Under the Georgia Election Code’s residency rules, “if a person moves to another state and wants to live in that state, that person is considered to have lost his or her residency in Georgia.”

Arguing that rampant voter fraud occurred during the election, Linwood filed a lawsuit in Georgia seeking to overturn the election results based on problems with absentee voting procedures, voter drop boxes and multi-cat voting machines. Wood claims to be a Trump supporter, but has long supported Democrats, as detailed by Breitbart News.

In a statement to WSB-TV Tuesday night, Linwood responded to the new investigation against him by saying, “I’ve been a resident of Georgia since 1955. Yesterday I changed my residence to South Carolina.”

He called Raffensperger’s investigation “pure harassment” and said Raffensperger has a grudge against him because Linwood’s attorney “made public credible evidence of election fraud by Raffensperger.

Linwood’s lawsuit against the Secretary of State was found by the judge to be unsubstantiated, and in December the U.S. District Court ended the lawsuit, saying that Wood’s claims should have been “based on sufficient facts” and that the court “does not believe the remaining, bold assertions based on mere assumptions.
