The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) military has recently sent military aircraft to intrude on Taiwan several times, sparking cross-strait military tensions, and some U.S. military experts have analyzed that Beijing may use a non-traditional way to sneak up on Taiwan. Scholars have called for Taiwan to be on the right side of the ongoing Chinese military threat to Taiwan, so Taiwan should not harbor any illusions about the Chinese Communist Party.
In a recent article in the U.S. media Forbes, Cole, a professor at the National War College, was quoted as saying that in order to avoid mass casualties, the Chinese Communist Party’s military may not adopt the traditional amphibious landing operations, but will likely adopt sneak attack tactics.
Cole speculated that the Chinese Communist Party would not launch a large-scale amphibious landing operation. He judged that Chinese troops would hide in some large container ships beforehand, moored in ports in the north and south of Taiwan, possibly Kaohsiung, or Keelung, and that Chinese soldiers might also disguise themselves on civilian airliners and fly from China to various airports in Taiwan. attacks.”
Once the Chinese military’s tactics are successful, Cole said, they will not have to attack all the way from the beachhead into Taiwan’s cities “because they will already be there.”
The article also points out that, in fact, the Chinese military has already calculated this type of sneak attack strategy, and in 2008, the ROC military discovered that the Chinese intended to sneak troops into northern Taiwan.
The senior director of the Institute for Project 2049, a Virginia-based think tank, Yee Sze On, also speculated that the Chinese PLA might use the exercise as a pretext for mass mobilization, secretly boarding civilian ships that normally travel between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, sailing to Taiwan on the day of the so-called exercise, and rushing out to control the docks once they are in port to meet the subsequent landing troops.
In recent months, the Chinese Communist Party has been stepping up its civilian and military attacks on Taiwan, and has sent military planes to fly over the center line of the strait frequently. The Chinese Defense Ministry has even arrogantly chanted that “Taiwan independence means war,” and the outside world is concerned about whether the Chinese Communist Party is really prepared to attack Taiwan.
The Japanese newspaper “Sankei Shimbun” reported that the Chinese Communist Party’s frequent use of military aircraft to disturb Taiwan may be aimed at intimidating the U.S. aircraft carriers off the southern coast of Taiwan.
Taiwan’s Presidential Senior Minister Hsiao Hsin-huang stressed that there should be no illusions about the CCP. From the CCP’s promise to Tibet and then breaking the contract, and then its broken promises and suppression of Hong Kong‘s one country, two systems, Taiwan does not have any basis for choosing the CCP.
