U.S.-Mexico border continues to “heat up” a large number of Haitian immigrants crossing the border illegally

Guatemalan soldiers patrol a bridge in Zacapa on Jan. 19 to prevent Honduran migrants from crossing.

Biden‘s new immigration policy is so attractive to illegal immigrants that on Saturday (30), a large group of suspected Haitian immigrants were arrested in Del Rio, Texas, in Balverde County, after they illegally crossed the border from Mexico into Texas.

According to anonymous sources, more than 90 illegal aliens entered the U.S. illegally and were arrested, many of whom are suspected Haitian citizens, the U.S. media Breitbart News reported Jan. 30. Mexican immigration officials have warned U.S. border authorities of a potential migrant influx that is passing through Mexico on chartered buses.

While the border arrests have attracted little attention, the size of the group and their countries of origin do speak volumes.

In Mexico, third-country nationals are free to travel in Mexico as long as they provide proof of travel and promise to leave the country within a specified period of Time.

Later, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (U.S. Customs) confirmed that more than 90 illegal aliens were arrested shortly after 9 a.m. Jan. 30 near Del Rio, Texas. Mexican law enforcement dispersed another group of immigrants who had not yet crossed the border illegally into the United States.

The arrested group of immigrants is currently being held in Del Rio and is being processed by Border Patrol, so the exact nationality of the group is not yet known, but many of them are suspected to be Haitian nationals.

Given Biden’s open immigration policy, more immigrants from Haiti are expected to follow, but the risk of crossing the border illegally is huge.

According to Breitbart News on Jan. 21, Del Rio border patrol agents received information from Mexican authorities on Jan. 8 about a possible drowning in the Rio Grande, and patrol agents rushed to the area and found the body of a female migrant, who officials reported was a 33-year-old Haitian migrant who was pregnant.

Mexican authorities said the woman’s husband had drowned several days earlier. They found his body on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande. He also appears to have drowned while trying to cross the border illegally.

Since fiscal year 2021 (Oct. 1, 2020), the Del Rio Border Patrol has recovered the bodies of 18 migrants who died on their way across the Rio Grande or shortly after successfully crossing into Texas.

“The freezing temperatures, winter mixed with snow and ice, and the cold waters of the river pose an increased risk to the lives of those attempting to enter the United States illegally.” Del Rio City Border Patrol officials said in a written statement.

Del Rio officials warned migrants of the dangers of crossing in winter, in addition to the unpredictable currents, deep water and cold water temperatures that migrants face crossing the Rio Grande, making it more difficult for them to avoid the dangers.
