One Media founder Lai Chi-ying was charged with fraud and “colluding with a foreign country or foreign forces to endanger national security” under the National Security Law of Hong Kong, and the High Court granted him bail last year under strict conditions. Later, the Department of Justice appealed, and the Court of Final Appeal granted leave to appeal on New Year’s Eve last year, and Lai Chi-ying was immediately returned to the scabbard until Monday (February 1) for another hearing. The Court of Final Appeal adjourned the ruling on Monday afternoon after a day of trial, but the result was still inconclusive.
In the morning, Lai Chi-ying was transported to the court by the highest-ranking prison vehicle “Iron Dragon” to attend the trial, and through the inflatable tunnel erected by correctional officers to enter the trial, in order to prevent the media from filming Lai Chi-ying himself.
Outside the court queue to enter the side hall of the public, the first 10 people are overwhelmingly South Asians, they turned away after collecting chips, did not enter the audience, so some of the supporters of Lai Chi-ying could not enter.
