Nearly a year since the outbreak began in California, the number of people infected with and dying from pneumonia in hospitals remains high, although the numbers are currently showing a slowing trend. According to Johns Hopkins University, an average of 544 deaths per day over the past week, the total number of deaths in California crossed the 40,000 threshold on Saturday the 30th, with about 40,869 deaths and 3,297,728 confirmed cases.
According to FOSS TV, the number of deaths in California has climbed sharply since the Epidemic worsened in mid-October 2020. In the past two weeks, the number of infections and hospital admissions has continued but has shown signs of slowing down. In the past week, the number of deaths has increased, with more than 3,800 cases. Records show that California had 10,000 deaths in the first six months, then 20,000 after four months, and then 30,000 after just five weeks, and then 40,000 after 20 days.
As of now, only New York State has a higher death toll of about 43,000 new coronary pneumonia infections, but California will have a much higher death toll than New York State if it grows at this rate.
